Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the friendly, engaging staff, and the food comes close behind, with a steak cooked to perfection, starters described as excellent, and generous portions. The set Greek menu is called fantastic value, and the sharing olive and bread platters and the PS I Love You cocktail get specific praise. Diners also like the garden room, the glass room and the outdoor seating. One reviewer notes a burger bun that started to disintegrate halfway through. A family visit found only two staff members for a full restaurant, which slowed ordering and paying, though the staff still checked on the table. The most serious complaint is a lunch where a regular's Trio Fish arrived changed, with watery cabbage and large carrots lacking flavour. Asking about it drew a poor response and a suggestion to order something else, and the diner left without eating a meal. In a happier moment, staff let a family take home a box for a father who could not finish his plate.

“Delicious food! Really friendly staff and plenty of menu choices. Easy to find with a good car park too. If meeting in a large group where people have to travel further afield, then there's a premier inn a short distance away.”

“Here for the first time, I was the only one in the restaurant so atmosphere not really rateable but food was great value and selection of wines were well judged. Friendly staff and generous portions too.”

“Proof of a great place is that it was very well attended as my wife and I arrived at an early time of 6.45 pm. Plenty of table options still available, but booking is certainly recommended. Excellent menu including agreed themed set menu which we both ordered from, and thoroughly enjoyed. Very friendly and efficient staff who were very engaging. The decor and ambiance is very well done. Certainly a place that is making great headway in a very difficult service environment.”

“Delightful place to eat, drink, relax and socialise - indoor, outdoors and imbetween areas all most pleasant spaces. Indoors well air conditioned for current high temps but plenty of outside areas giving options of sun or shade and all attractively furnished. Appetising menu - great variety including lots of tasty Greek dishes. We love the sharing olive and bread platters to start or just as a tasty snack between us with drinks. So good. 2 of us thoroughly enjoyed tasty salad options last night and instead of a pudding this time opted for the PS I love You cocktail. Delicious. Very good service and most affable Landlord. Highly recommend.”

“I took a colleague here for lunch and was disappointed. I ordered the Trio Fish, which I’ve had several times before, but it arrived completely different, with watery cabbage and large carrots that lacked flavour (see photo). I politely asked why it had changed, but the response was poor. The plate was taken away, discussed with the chef, and I was told to order something else because “the chef has made it like that for the last three years.” The issue was the attitude as much as the food. I’d simply asked a question about a dish I knew well. By then I’d lost my appetite and didn’t order anything else. The onion ring in the photo was given to me by my colleague — it was the only thing I ate. A shame, as I’ve enjoyed this place before, but I won’t be returning.”
