About Beach House Falmouth

Beach House Falmouth is a seafood restaurant on Swanpool Rd in Falmouth, overlooking the sea and the beach. The seafood platter for two brings lobster, mussels, clams and prawns with thick slices of the kitchen's own bread, which makes it a dish to share across the table. Among the other plates, a scallop starter comes with a hazelnut dressing, and the crab linguine covers the pasta side of the menu. Wine sits alongside the seafood. The restaurant takes walk-ins. A happy hour on cocktails gives the bar its own slot in the day.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the scallop, praised for its nutty hazelnut butter dressing, with one diner ordering a second round. Close behind are the crab linguine, the white wine mussels, and the rosemary focaccia that several mention for mopping up sauce from the prawns and mussels. Others name a tempura mackerel, a seafood platter for two with lobster and clams, oysters, and half price cocktails at happy hour. Many describe friendly service and a sea view setting, and a few appreciate how relaxed the staff are about dogs.

“Food was good and fresh, but we came in with our 3 month old and was told after we paid for our drinks and food that management said they don't allow prams- which is quite shocking for a place next to a family friendly beach! Would rather they have told us before we paid and we would have found somewhere else to go! But they were happy to allow a dog to run around not on their lead!”

“What a great find in Swanpool Falmouth. This place overlooks the sea and the beach and is a fantastic place for a drink, snack or dinner! We loved the happy hour, half price cocktails which were amazing. The restaurant has inside and outside seating with the outdoors on a first come basis. The food was also really good we had their seafood platter for two with lobster mussels, clams, and prawns. It comes with two doorstops of their own bread to mop up the juices, delicious. Underpinning all the great food and drinks is the atmosphere and the fantastic service. The restaurant manager is so lovely and friendly, happy to chat with us and introduced us to her sister who was also working there both of them so lovely. That's not to say the other staff weren't also great, thanks for a great couple of sessions. One night they were fully booked but the younger sister said "my sister will try and fit you in if you can't find anywhere else" above and beyond! In tbe end she recommended their sister restaurant Harbour House which is another review to look out for. Thank you Beach House, we'll be back.”

“We chose this restaurant to celebrate our son's graduation, and it was the perfect place for such a special occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and every detail made our evening memorable. A special thank you to Daisy, who looked after us throughout the evening. She was incredibly kind, attentive, friendly, and professional. Her excellent service made our celebration even more enjoyable, and she truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Thank you for helping us create such wonderful memories. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.”

“The food was above average. We enjoyed the beach view. However, there are some issues I need to highlight. When me and my lady wanted to order food, the waitress asked me to order from another waitress since she is not our allocated waitress. Customers should be able to order from any waiter or waitress working in the restaurant. When another waitress came, she only took order for drinks. She said the kitchen is busy and we would have to wait to order our food another time. Again, I have never experienced this before. You should just take the order when customers want to order food. During that time, the restaurant was not even half full. For the bill, most restaurants in UK would charge 10 percent for service fees while they charge 12.5 percent service fees when the service isnt great. In the end, we wanted to carry away the water bottle we ordered since it is 4.5 pounds and still plenty left. They said we are allowed to take away water bottle but when I asked where is the lid that waitress said they threw away already. How am I supposed to carry away a water bottle without a lid? Most waitresses working there are students and I feel like they have no experience or guidance for serving customers at all. I dont think I will go back there again.”

“Overpriced. And the menu had such limited options for us to choose from, don’t know if we were given a different menu, but there weren’t any usual seafood that you would usually see in other similar restaurants. The seabass was awfully small portioned for a price of £27, we ordered 2 portions, but it seemed like it was one portion cut in half. Compared to the table who also ordered seabass, ours were definitely mini. The fun part was that the tables had some interesting card trivia games to kill time, but apart from that, everything else wasn’t really satisfactory. Don’t think we’ll be making a visit again.”
