Customer Review Summary
Food draws the most praise at this former bank. A tuna melt is singled out, others call the meals very good or consistently good, and one notes a good range for dietary requirements. Not every dish lands. One diner found the cheesy chips a touch too creamy, another said the Nasi Goreng was so oily it made them feel sick, and a burger was just okay. A pot of tea tasted off to one visitor. Reviewers describe a grand, elegant building with bohemian art, a very dark interior, and a student crowd at certain times. Service splits sharply. Several call the staff friendly and lovely, yet a regular met a rude waitress, and another paid a tip for table service through the app and never received the drink. One reviewer reports finding ants in an iced coffee and describes open milk cartons and dirty jugs at the bar, along with a manager who did not acknowledge them. The waitress who processed that refund was described as apologetic and kind.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐| Amazing food, tiny flaw! The food here was absolutely amazing—every bite was delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. Honestly, top-tier quality and great taste all around! 🤤 Only small downside: the cheesy chips I ordered were a little too creamy for my liking. The flavour was still great, but the creaminess level was just a touch over the top. Still, I’d absolutely come back and recommend it—minor thing, didn’t ruin the meal at all! 👍”

“A lovely setting that has been decked out very well and made great use of the space. My only pueve is we ordered a drink on the app, even paid a tip for the table service and it never came. After 15 minutes gave up and trekked downstairs to get it myself. If I am paying for table service and a tip on top, I shouldn't be collecting my own drinks. Food was very good though.”

“Great friendly service. Could really do with a baby changing place upstairs. Food ok, but quite pricey for a spec kitchen. That said there is a good range for dietary requirements.”

“15/03/26 : Dropped in to check the place out for food later during our stay, decided to have a pint & a pot of tea. The beer was ok, the tea tasted somewhat rank, maybe it was the teabag or the water, it was just off. Also we felt a bit uncomfortable during the visit, I finished my pint, we discarded the tea & left, we did not return for food, choosing to dine elsewhere. What a shame as we use a lot of the Lounge Bars as we travel the UK & have had some amazingly meals & drinks, where good lunches turn into great evenings, but this Lounge has been our least favourite one so far. Sorry about the honest review of our visit & experience, these are our opinions, you will have to make your own if you visit.”
