Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the authentic Indian flavour, with paneer masala, paneer butter masala and bhindi masala described as fresh and well spiced, and the naan as soft. Lamb comes close behind: a fall-off-the-bone lamb shank, well-seasoned lamb chops, lamb haggis pakora, and a Banjara Gosht a waiter suggested for a spicy curry. Reviewers also single out the monkfish tikka, Chicken 65 and chicken tikka shashlik, and a karahi called rich and comforting. Service is repeatedly described as attentive without being intrusive, and portions as generous. The criticisms are small but specific. One diner wanted more prawns in the king prawn rogan josh, another found the chilli garlic king prawn curry too hot, one wished for Indian desserts like rasmalai, and one felt the back of the restaurant needed a refresh. Several describe celebrations, from a Valentine's weekend table decorated with balloons to a birthday cake brought out for a husband, and a small glass of spiced tomato and coriander soup served on arrival.

“Actually we came from Coventry England to Edinburgh yesterday. Today my husband had birthday and while coming on the way from city centre to hotel uber driver recommended us about this restaurant. “After trying Indian food at several places in Edinburgh, this is by far the most authentic Indian restaurant we’ve found. The flavors were rich, fresh, and tasted just like home. We ordered the Bhindi Masala and Paneer Masala, and both dishes were absolutely amazing. The spices were perfectly balanced, the paneer was soft and fresh, and the bhindi was cooked just right. The masala itself was simply wow—full of authentic flavor without being overly heavy. If you’re craving genuine Indian food in Edinburgh, this place is definitely worth a visit. We’ll certainly be coming back! 🇮🇳🍛”

“Absolutely wonderful Indian restaurant. We ordered 6 dishes and each was flavorful and delicious in its own right. If we lived in the area, this would be a regular spot for us.”

“We dined here twice during our stay in Edinburgh this summer. Authentic Indian cuisine favourites available, such as butter chicken, biryanis, and various curries. Both times, we were in large party groups, and everyone was very satisfied. The service was very attentive, frequently checking if everything was okay with the food. I just wished there were more Indian dessert options like rasmalai. Overall, highly recommended. Unfortunately, I was unable to snap any pictures as the plates were cleared quickly.”

“Had a wonderful dining experience at Chaskaa! We ordered the paneer butter masala and naan, and everything tasted absolutely amazing. The food had that authentic Indian flavour that’s hard to find sometimes, and the naan was perfectly soft, fresh, and delicious. The ambience was warm and welcoming, the staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and the service was impeccable throughout. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely recommend this place!”
