About Westgate Farm - Farmhouse Inns
Westgate Farm - Farmhouse Inns is a pub on S Gyle Broadway in Edinburgh, open daily, with an indoor play area that gives children space to play while adults eat. The carvery runs daily, with a carver serving the meat at the counter, and the pub breakfast is an all-you-can-eat buffet. The classic pub menu includes chicken wings and sirloin steak, and a separate gluten free menu covers a gluten free cheese burger. Large cakes come with a "cakaway" option for taking them home. Music stays low, and there is plenty of parking. The pub also opens on Christmas Day, with a host and staff working.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return to the carvery, where one reviewer praises the range and freshness of the food and another singles out a kind, polite meat carver. Close behind are the friendly staff, from Christmas day service to a team leader who accommodated different food needs and a host who checked on a table unsure what to do. Also named are a turkey yorkie wrap, chicken wings described as fresh and crispy, a sirloin steak cooked rare, a cold meat salad, and a gluten free cheese burger that was very tasty. The caveat comes from one reviewer who received two large drinks that were not full, a burger that did not taste like beef, and bread and butter with the fish so stale it seemed toasted, and who described both meals as kids portions. Another reviewer notes the massive cakes, with a cakeaway for later, and a staff member who served a busy early morning alone, quickly and with a smile.

“Popped in for dinner late last night. Staff are all extremely friendly, the pub is nice and cosy but has loads of comfortable seating available. A nice classic pub menu, had chicken wings (which were amazing, fresh and crispy) and then a sirloin steak, Cooke rare and delicious. Prices are very reasonable!!!”

“Stopped off here on the way home from the airport. Ordered two large drinks, both arrived not full with one of them barely even half full. If you’re paying £3.90 for a drink you expect it to be full. Burger and chips was genuinely shocking, the burger was probably the worst burger I’ve ever had, didn’t even taste like beef. Bread and butter that came with the fish was so stale it tasted like it had been toasted. Both meals looked like kids portions. We’d been travelling awhile at this point so just got on with it and ate the food as didn’t have the energy to order anything different and complain. Complete waste of £40. Not the staffs fault they can only cook with the ingredients they’re given.”

“After a long day of working i rock up to Westgate farm expecting a standard sub par experience. Was i wrong? Yes I was. The venue? relaxing. The staff? Friendly!. The food? Blew me away. Having not partaken in a Carvery for quite some time. I was very happy with the range and freshness of food on offer. 10/10 would Carvery again.”
