  “Lovely cafe, they have a scan to order barcode on the table which makes ordering even easier. I’d say about 90% of the time I get pancakes from cafes, they taste like they’re out of a packet. The pancakes here looked and tasted freshly made, they were light and fluffy. The breakfast all looked fresh too. All our food was very tasty! The coffees weren’t bad either. I’d definitely come back. There is plenty of space in the cafe and it overlooks the lake which is nice.”

  “Sat outside with some friends and had a lovely brunch here. The food is unique and absolutely delicious - I had the hot honey sweetcorn fritters with halloumi, avo and poached eggs and it was amazing. Not too expensive, and they have some decent cheaper options like the baps. Coffee was also nice - my friend had the Spanish latte and loved it. It’s self service which actually works really well for the venue. Will definitely be coming back ☺️”

  “We recently booked The Perch for our mum's 60th birthday party. The service we received leading up to the party and the night of was brilliant. Rosie and her team were so accommodating. The venue is perfect and the views over the pond were fantastic. The food was also a highlight and everyone commented on how nice it was. Would definitely recommend The Perch for a private event.”

  “I have not been here before, but was recommended by a friend. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was here. I come from Hastings and our cafe in the park is a bit basic and nothing in comparison to the food here. I had a salad (pic attached) and my mum & son had fish & chips. The food was delicious, atmosphere was great. Service was brilliant and the lovely lady who served us (Vicky) was so attentive to everyone in the restaurant and never stopped smiling. I highly recommend popping in for a drink or lunch.”

  “Service was great. Staff were friendly. The inside is nice, with a view of the lake, although bit basic on the furniture. The food was great, although eggs slightly overcooked. My wife's meal (photo attached) was amazing. Prices are really good for what you get. We didn't have to wait long for our food. For a table of 2, we waited about 15 minutes before our food was served. The online ordering system does not always tell you if something is out of stock, which is a bit annoying. Overall, I would go back and I can recommend it if you're in the area and looking for a quick bite.”

  “The perch cafe is in a great location with friendly staff. The food is nice, although I would say the poach eggs is quite pricey at £9.50. I did ask if they had scrambled eggs on toast or an omelette but was told they only have poached or fried eggs. I could understand an omelete, but scramble eggs should be doable?”

  “We had never been to perch before, however we could tell it was popular just from walking up to it. We went in and asked how seating works, found our table for two and looked at the extensive menu - there is something for everyone. We ordered via QR code which was easy, simple etc. Food and drinks arrived in good time and both were delicious. The coffee was gorgeous and the food was hot, good quality and fresh. The minimal interactions we had with staff were positive and they all seemed incredibly friendly. The blonde lady (presumably management) wearing a brown t shirt was especially bright and friendly. We will 100% return with more people or even pop by for a coffee. Delicious. 10’s all round!”

  “Oh wow....what a Roast!! Absolutely Amazing. Great portion sizes and very very tasty. Friendly service upon arrival. Highly recommend the elderflower tea. Only gripe was a loud table behind us whose child had a game boy blasting out. We couldn't hear ourselves talk. Great place though very peaceful to eat normally. Thanks for a lovely roast dinner. DW”

  “What a find! I've not been here before, but by the end of this year I plan to be a regular, every time I'm in Eastbourne. The outside looks a little rough... But once you're in you realise it's all a part of the charm. The place is stunning inside. Staff were extremely welcoming, there's a fully stocked bar and beautiful views over the park pond. It's bright, clean and spacious. Super dog friendly too! But the food... Presented like works of art and the taste was sensational. Pricing was excellent too. Oh and a visit to the loo is a must... Be bold, press that big red button and twinkle as you tinkle. I just wish it was open at night, it would be a fantastic place for live music or a romantic dinner.”

  “One of my favourite places to stop at for coffee or brunch. Beautiful views, overlooking the lake which is home to a number of swans, and boating activities. Service is exceptional,brunch and coffee are always presented well, served quickly and taste amazing. It is always busy, woudl recommend booking your table although we have always been lucky they have managed ro fit us in. Great warm vibrant atmosphere, lovely decor. Parking can be found on the other side of the road next to the beach, this is a 7 days a week paid car park - no free stays I am afraid. There is a mini golf course, a park, outside dining area's also. Clean well kept toilets inside and outside.”
