Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out Hugo’s Bar & Pavilion for its lively event hosting, with large groups repeatedly praising the Pavilion’s space and the staff’s accommodating service for quiz nights, birthdays, and buffets. The food draws frequent mention, with fish and chips, chicken ballotine, and creme brulee cited as delicious, while the soup and sausage rolls also earn compliments. Several note the broad drinks choice and cocktails as a highlight. A recurring caveat centers on the food quality during busier or themed nights, with one reviewer describing a flavourless curry with soggy rice and a cold pizza, and another reporting a disappointing Christmas dinner with cramped seating. The bar area’s sport TVs and outdoor seating are noted for quick, reasonably priced lunches, though some find it loud or short on comfortable seating when football is on. One diner also remarks on the venue’s AI-generated decor.

Had lunch, soup was excellent. Staff really friendly and helpful. Was in the bar area so bit short on comfortable seating with sport on the TV. But for a quick reasonably priced lunch, it was excellent. There is an attached restaurant area for more comfort and longer lunches.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
