About RANA’S Indian Grill House
RANA'S Indian Grill House is an Indian restaurant in Doncaster, at 6-8 Nether Hall Rd, serving South Indian cooking alongside British-Indian classics. Dogs are welcome, so diners can bring their own companion along for the meal. The menu leans on tikka dishes, including paneer tikka and malai tikka boti, and Gobi Manchurian sits among the starters. Breads include cheese naan and garlic naan, and a pickle tray comes with the meal. An Early Bird Special set menu gives an earlier way to order. Table service runs through the dining room, and a cocktail menu is available for drinks. For birthdays and anniversaries, the staff bring a complimentary cake or drink to the table.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the service, describing polite, friendly staff who surprised diners with a small cake and candle for a birthday and a complimentary drink for an anniversary. The food draws praise too, with the mixed sizzler arriving sizzling, cheese naan, gobi Manchurian, paneer tikka, butter chicken, a surf and turf curry and Malabar paratha all named. One reviewer liked the pickle tray and the cocktail menu, and another says the kitchen accommodated guests who could not eat spicy food. Several mention big portions and reasonable prices, and the presentation is called beautiful. The main complaint comes from one three-star review, where the gobi tikka had two pieces of cauliflower, the chicken cheese tikka boti was dry and bland, the lamb tikka masala had a slightly sour cream, and the king prawn saag had small prawns in mostly saag. Told about the dry dish, the waitress apologised and said to flag problems before eating so it could be changed. One reviewer adds that the food suits a more European palate.

“Went on friday for first time, was celebrating one year anniversary so thought we'd try somewhere new. The service was absolutely amazing from us walking in! The staff are so friendly, pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent, I loved all the different choices on the pickle tray! My husbands surf and turf curry was fantastic, im boring and just have a butter chicken but was beautiful! The cocktail menu was my favourite haha. Great choices and beautifully presented with great taste! Already planning on coming back next week for my birthday! Would highly recommend.”

“Nice restaurant, close to the centre of town. Friendly staff, I was part of a group of 4 and the table service was very good and the food was enjoyed by all of us. I would recommend this restaurant if your after a decent Indian with reasonable prices.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic meal at Rana’s Indian Restaurant in Doncaster. The food was absolutely fabulous, and the service was second to none. We had a large party, and two of our guests couldn’t eat spicy food. The restaurant was more than happy to accommodate their dietary needs, which was greatly appreciated. All the waiters and waitresses were extremely attentive and friendly, but a special mention must go to Puna, who constantly checked on us throughout the meal to make sure everyone was happy with their food and had everything they needed. Nothing was too much trouble, and the whole evening was made even more enjoyable by the excellent service. I would highly recommend Rana’s to anyone looking for delicious Indian food and outstanding service. We will definitely be returning!”

“Lovely service, they couldn't be any nicer, very polite. Food is amazing and really good value for money. Had the Early Bird Special 1, samosa, paneer tikka masala, steamed rice. My friend had the chicken tikka masala, malai tikka boti, and garlic naan. Also ordered a Saag Aloo. They didn't have it as a side or on the menu but did it for me for £10.95 - same size as a main portion but a pound cheaper.”

“Incredible food and amazing hospitality! We had a wonderful meal here—the curries were absolutely delicious and packed with incredible flavor. What really made the night extra special was the outstanding customer service. The lovely lady looking after us took fantastic care of us all evening. When she found out it was my friend’s birthday, she surprised him with a little cake and a candle—such a thoughtful touch! We will definitely be back for more great food!”
