About Simo's Cafe
With just four tables inside, Simo's Cafe is a small café and breakfast spot on Thorne Rd in Doncaster, where your order is cooked fresh in front of you at the counter. Breakfast anchors the menu, with the full English among the plates that come out, alongside sandwiches and rolls including a bacon and sausage roll. The same English family has run the place for more than a decade. Seating is walk-in only, with no reservations taken, and food arrives quickly once ordered. Anyone who would rather eat elsewhere can take the same food away, which helps when the tables are taken. A step-free entrance keeps the room reachable for visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. The café trades Monday to Saturday during the daytime and closes on Sundays, and some customers drive in from out of town to eat here.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast dominates, with several calling it the best full English they have had in years and one describing a twenty mile drive each way made just for it. Sandwiches run a close second, singled out more than once as the best in Doncaster, alongside a bacon and sausage roll that arrived quickly. Regulars point to the same family ownership stretching back over a decade and to the value of the breakfast. Service draws warm words too: greeted on arrival, no pressure to buy extras, and food cooked fresh in view of the counter. A few note the room holds only about four tables, though one found space easily, and another only ever orders takeaway and still rates it. Against this, one reviewer describes blunt, unwelcoming treatment, a refusal to let a three year old use the toilet, and reports seeing raw and cooked meat handled without a handwash. Others call the place clean and tidy, mention hand sanitiser at the counter, and say they leave with a smile after a chat.

“Rude owner and staff, the staff are blunt, no warmth you would expect with a customer facing business, no toilet exceptions for a 3 year old girl who desperately needed a wee. The owner/ chef never washed his hands in the 40 minutes we was there, handling raw meat straight to cooked. Never again going back to this dump.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
