About Tammys Cafe
Tammys Cafe is a cafe inside the indoor market in Doncaster. Payment is cash only, and people who work on the market get a discount. The kitchen serves a cooked breakfast with toast, and the bacon for its bacon sandwich is cooked fresh in front of the customer. Hot dinners run to steak pie with mash and veg. Puddings are served hot, and apple crumble with custard is one of them.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw at this indoor market cafe, with reviewers repeatedly describing it as freshly cooked, hot and good value, from lightly basted eggs to toast that one diner calls an essential item. Close behind are the hot dinners, including a cottage pie and mash with veg and a steak pie with fresh vegetables, both described as well cooked. Takeaway orders also earn praise, such as a bacon sandwich cooked in front of the customer, a toastie, and a turkey, stuffing and cranberry sarnie at Christmas. Several mention friendly staff, and one enjoyed a big mug of perfectly made tea served in a hurry. The one practical trade-off comes from a reviewer who notes that seating was spaced out during Covid, so when the cafe was full the advice was to wait and try again. Reviewers close on the hot apple crumble or apple pie with custard, which one market worker says few places in town offer to take away.

“Only 2nd time I’ve been in cafe and definitely be a regular customer. Best meal I’ve ever had in uk in any cafe it was hot, freshly cooked, and tasted bloody delicious, the pudding was hot. (Cottage pie and mash with veg, the pudding was a apple pie custard) The staff are so friendly and welcoming”

“Love this little cafe! Absolute gem! Never ate in because I work on the market so always take away but they do discount for anyone who works on the market! Usually get a toastie or if it's Xmas time a turkey stuffing and cranberry sarnie and both are devine! I absolutely love the apple crumble and custard they do too, not many places in town do hot desserts to takeaway. Only thing is it's cash only but understandable that cash is king.”
