About Bake Battle Roll CIC
Bake Battle Roll CIC is Doncaster's first board game cafe, set at 24-26 Wood St with over 800 games and a Dungeons and Dragons room. The library covers all ages and player counts, and the staff recommend games and explain how to play them. Tables are arranged either for personal space or for group gatherings, and a private room can be booked out for larger parties. Drinks are served to the table, with milkshakes, iced coffee and latte on the menu, and a bar sits alongside. Home made bakes and cake round out the offer, and the food menu includes several vegetarian options.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the size of the board game library, with games for every age and player count and staff who suggest titles and explain how to play them. One group booked the private room for the Hero Quest rerelease, and another describes the place as somewhere to meet up and trade Pokemon cards. Food and drink sit close behind. Diners mention milkshakes, lattes, iced coffee and homemade bakes, and one vegetarian was surprised by how many good options the menu offers. Staff and hosts are repeatedly called friendly and warm, and one visitor says they felt like a regular on a first visit. Several call the prices fair, and tables are arranged to suit either personal space or group gatherings. One person meeting an online date says they felt safe after letting the staff know. Many point to the welcoming, inclusive feel, down to the progress pride flag in the window and the Lego pride model on display.

“Visited for a LitFest event and received the warmest welcome from the owner and the regulars. Such a friendly, welcoming, accepting and inclusive space. More games than I knew existed, tables arranged to suit personal space or group gatherings and a fab selection of drinks and incredible home made bakes. Rachel was super happy to show me around, explained what's on offer and talked me through the backstory of BBR. It's so clear that this place is a passion project and the folks I spoke with who go in often couldn't praise the owners and the facilities enough. An absolute gem ❤️”

“Excellent venue with a fantastic selection of games. I met an online date and let the staff know and I felt very safe, with a friendly atmosphere. It had sign to be neurodiverse friendly, & inclusive and when caught unawares the bathroom was fully stocked. It's those little details that make a great place amazing.”

“Wow, we stumbled on an absolute GEM today. We called mid afternoon to see if there was room for 2 today and were told there was. We walked in to such a comfortable and welcoming environment. The staff are friendly and made it feel like a home from home. Staff weren't intrusive at all but offered (welcome) support where needed or requested. Staff were so down to earth and made you feel like you were a regular, despite it being our first visit. We ordered iced coffees (which wasn't on the menu but was supplied without problem) and a latte- all delicious and with fast table service. The selection of board games was vast and excellent quality and the staff were very knowledgeable. We were pointed in the direction a section ideal for 2 players but also encouraged to browse the rest, with some fab recommendations. We came intending to spend an hour or so and I think we stayed for over 4!! The toilets were lovely and clean. It was refreshing to see how openly inclusive they were, particularly in regards to the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ community! Loud and proud, we are allies too! Price wise, we genuinely think they arent charging enough so well worth a visit! Thank you for such a wonderful day, you've made our little Yorkshire trip away!”

“Just visited for the first time today with a friend. I had a fun time picking out new games of which there are plenty of options. The hosts were so lovely and warm.”
