About Cafe sol
Cafe sol is a cafe on the High Street in Doncaster city centre, serving walk-in customers at 6 High St. The kitchen turns out breakfast plates that come with a coffee included, alongside poached eggs and a jacket potato topped with cheese, beans and chicken. Toasties and coffee cake are also on the menu for those wanting something lighter. Orders are taken at the table by servers rather than at a counter, and high chairs are available for families with young children. The cafe opens daily, and no booking is needed, customers simply walk in and take a seat.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw at Cafe Sol, with diners praising poached eggs cooked perfectly and a breakfast that comes with a coffee, alongside generous portions. Close behind are the lunch dishes, including a jacket potato with cheese, beans and chicken described as tender and well seasoned, and toasties called yummy. The coffee cake gets its own mention as "to die for", and one reviewer calls the hot drink and cake delicious for the price. Staff are described as friendly, helpful and not rushing anyone, and one fussy eater says they always accommodate requests. Reviewers also like how the food is displayed and the warm, relaxed feel of the building. Value comes up repeatedly as a positive, with fresh, filling food served hot, though one reviewer notes it is not the cheapest place and still feels it is worth every penny. Several say they are returning, and one visited twice in a single day, going back for an evening meal after morning cake.

“If I could give Café Sol in Doncaster a 10-star rating, I genuinely would. From the moment you walk in, you’re made to feel welcome and comfortable the atmosphere is warm, friendly and relaxed, which already sets it apart. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese, beans and chicken, and it was absolutely spot on. The portion size was very generous, the potato was cooked perfectly, and everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. The cheese was melted just right, the beans were rich, and the chicken was well-seasoned and tender nothing dry or bland at all. You can tell the food is made with care rather than rushed. What really stood out was the quality for the price. You get proper, filling food that’s cooked well and served hot, which isn’t always easy to find. The staff were lovely, attentive without being overbearing, and happy to help you’re not made to feel rushed or like just another customer. Overall, Café Sol is hands down one of the best cafés in Doncaster. Great food, great service, and a genuinely pleasant place to eat. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to others.”
