About One O'clock Gate

One O'clock Gate is an Asian fusion restaurant in Dinas Powys, based on the site of Dinas Powys Golf Club. The kitchen builds its menu around Korean-fusion burgers and chicken. Burgers come in beef, chicken or plant-based versions, and the kimchi burger puts the fusion approach front and centre. The Korean Chicken Cruncher covers the chicken side of the menu, while kimchi mac and cheese adds a Korean twist to a familiar comfort dish. Small plates for sharing sit alongside the burgers, and vegetarian options are on the menu. Burgers come without a side by default, so sides are listed and ordered separately.

Customer Review Summary

Burgers anchor the menu, and reviewers name the Kimchi burger, the Salt and Pepper chicken burger and the Chimichurri burger as well cooked and flavourful. Close behind are the Korean chicken, called superb and perfectly spiced by one diner, and the battered cauliflower with honey sauce, which two reviewers single out. Kimchi mac and cheese, teriyaki chicken, small plates and desserts also draw praise, and several describe friendly, patient staff and strong vegetarian choices. The criticism is specific. A few find it pricey because burgers arrive with no side. One found the Korean chicken heavily battered with an overly sweet sauce, the fries pale and undercooked, and the Shiro Negroni lemony and unbalanced, with cocktails arriving slowly. Another said the sake tasted watered down. One felt the interior lacked ambience, and another called the thinly padded wooden chairs uncomfortable. One table had a burger split between two, with the sauce and mayo served separately.

“We had a 5 star experience at One O’clock gate! Honestly everything tasted amazing! My burger was the Salt & Pepper chicken one and it was amazing!! I highly recommend you visit!!!”

“I'll start with the negative. Now, the positive. What a little gem, and I am so chuffed this place is on my doorstep. The food is just top level. It's all extremely well done, it's a well thought out menu, and critically, has something for everhbody. As my partner is a vegetarian, we always try and find somewhere that has decent options in that respect, and One O Clock does veggie extremely well. The service always immaculate, and the drinks are on point as well. Yep, it's not a tenner for fried chicken - but it's worth the cost. And worth your time.”

“Great food experience tucked away at a golf course. Superb Korean chicken spiced and seasoned to perfection. The cauliflower was also a delight. Kim Chi mac and cheese who knew this was a thing! Creamy rich and lightly spiced. A lovely dining experience thank you.”

“Bleecker Burger, Baker St 🍔✨ invite We finally made it!! After years of wanting to try Bleecker, we were absolutely chuffed to visit the new Baker St store while we were in London… and honestly? Worth. The. Wait. 🤤🔥 We ordered: 🍔 DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER — double beef, double cheese, onion + that house sauce 🥓 BACON DOUBLE — the same goodness but with crispy bacon (elite combo) 🍟 House Fries + extra house sauce because… obviously 🥤 Vanilla Shake 🍫 Double Chocolate Shake — Bleecker soft serve, whole milk & Valrhona chocolate (insane!) These burgers were THICKKK, juicy and properly tasty — exactly the kind of messy, drippy goodness you want from a proper smash-style burger. The house sauce slapped too 👌 And the shakes? STUNNING. Super creamy, gorgeous ice-cream flavour — proper treat vibes. If you’re in London, this spot is a must. Already planning our next trip back 😍🙌 #LondonFood #BurgerLovers #BleeckerBurger #londoneats FoodieFinds”

“Booked for an early tea as later slots were all booked up. Essentially the menu is burgers/chicken . I'd heard very good things about this place so I was excited to see for myself. The main meals are all around the £18 to £20 mark but they also do starters. The waiter was very pleasant and explained the menu clearly. We went on a Thursday and he told us about their offer of first drink free on Wednesdays & Thursdays! When the burger arrived it was absolutely excellent. I had the Kimchi burger and it was cooked perfectly. The flavours were great and even the fries were cooked well. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning soon.”
