About Hub Box Cardiff
Hub Box Cardiff is a restaurant at Unit 23/23A in Cardiff, brought to the city by a business that started in Cornwall and pays close attention to where its suppliers source their ingredients. The menu centres on burgers and topped fries, with garlic parm fries on the sides list and fish & chips for anyone who wants something else. Gluten free and vegan options are listed, and the gluten free choices are mostly food, as only one cider is gluten free. Drinks include shakes, raspberryade and cocktail deals, and a lunch deal pairs a burger, a side and a beer. Orders are placed with a QR code, and the views overlook the bay. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the burgers, describing juicy patties, a soft bun that held together, and crispy onion rings on the side. Close behind are the sides and other mains: garlic parm fries, crispy fries, chicken tenders, and a very large portion of fish and chips, with huge portions a recurring remark. Shakes and a raspberryade from the bar also get praise, and one reviewer liked the lunch deal and the views over the bay. Service is described as friendly, prompt and attentive, with several diners saying they were seated quickly. The caveats are mostly about drinks and ordering. One reviewer with celiac disease found only one gluten free cider, though the food had several gluten free options. Another found the cocktails full of crushed ice, so they watered down fast and the paper straws blocked, and disliked ordering by QR code. One reviewer felt the burger leaned expensive. Another says staff rushed diners to pay and free up the table without showing the card machine screen to check the bill.

“Very delicious food. I had the fish & chips. This was a very large portion. There were a lot of crispy fries, witch I am a fan of. Very lovely waiters and staff. Would definitely recommend!”

“Had absolute amazing service from Taylor. From the moment we entered he took care of myself and my family, he treated us so well. He got to know our names and really built a conversation with us. It’s not the first time my family have received brilliant service from him. Food was fab, atmosphere was lovely. But massive props to Taylor :)”

“My review is based on drinks only. Took advantage of the two cocktails for 12 pounds. I ordered off the QR code of which I am not a fan. After ordering, a waiter came with menus but told him we already ordered. Service was friendly nonetheless. Drinks arrived and were good quality except that they were full of crushed ice so they became watered down quickly and obviously with so much ice, the actual drink volume was small and our awful paper straws were useless because they became completely blocked with ice as soon as you tried sipping through them. Would recommend. The food also looked delicious.”
Highlights
“Hub Box is an essential stop-off for dirty burgers and topped fries. Hailing from the South West in Cornwall, Hub Box offers up a juicy burger! The provenance of their suppliers is something they are fiercely proud of! From top to bottom, every ingredient counts. Check out the extensive menu of award-winning burgers. There are gluten free & vegan options too!”
