About Tim Hortons
Tim Hortons is a restaurant on Wyvern Way in Derby, part of a Canadian brand that has been trading for 50 years. Guests can order at the counter or on a touch screen, and a table service option is available. The drive-thru takes orders from people who would rather stay in the car, and doughnuts are one item that can be collected that way. The coffee list includes a Flat White and an Iced French Vanilla Latte, alongside specialty flavoured drinks. Food runs from a breakfast roll with thick bacon to a wrap with hot honey and jalapeño lattice fries, plus a short choice of burgers. Shakes and a wide range of desserts cover the sweeter end of the menu. The restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Doughnuts are the draw reviewers raise most, called great and superb by diners who pick them up at the counter or drive through, and one reviewer back from Canada found them tasty though pricier. Close behind are the shakes and the jalapeño lattice fries, along with a thick-bacon breakfast roll and a burger described as lovely. A drive-through regular singles out the flat white and the Iced French Vanilla Latte, and a few mention clean toilets and plenty of seating. Complaints centre on drinks, service and the savoury menu. One reviewer finds the specialty drinks inconsistent, either watery and weak or tasting of plain coffee, and says the burger buns taste dry. Another reports three staff ignoring a lone customer at the counter before one asked what they wanted, and calls service always slow. A drive-through customer was told to pay by card despite a sign welcoming cash. One reviewer's hot honey wrap dripped out so freely it left sticky fingers.

“First time having visited a TH and was pleasantly impressed. Clean spacious dining area with plenty of seating and ample parking. Touch screen ordering with choices galore. Not your average fast food burger joint and whilst this restaurant offer far more variety in food options the burger choice is limited to 3 very similar burgers. Lots of dessert options with shakes a plenty. About 15 mins from order to arriving at the table via the table service option. Food was tasty and hot. Toilets were clean and good to see individual cubicles available. Don't necessarily think of it as a burger joint more a diner. Good food, good value for money, good service. Overall very happy”

“Came to the drive through to pick up some doughnuts. They were great. Only reason for a 4* not 5 is that the drive through venue is difficult to read and had to have separate sections on it. Wouldn't stop.le.cokont back, but would just have to order ahead. Great doughnuts tho!”

“I can't comment on atmosphere or food. I don't tend to eat in. I drive through. My go to is the Flat White, expensive in comparison to other places but worth it. It's bigger and more flavourful. At the moment my hearty recommendation is their Iced French Vanilla Latte. It's gorgeous. I've scored them down as the last time I went I got a plain iced latte. Not the same. Plus it can be a bit mixed service at the Drive Thru. I've tried to pay cash, big sign says cash welcome! Train your staff, because I got told to pay by card? Otherwise the staff are polite, pleasant and helpful, but quiet and I'm deaf.”

“I’m not sure what’s happened here compared to last year, but the quality has noticeably declined. The drinks are very inconsistent now and often weak in flavour. Like many places, they started strong but seem to have become complacent. In the past, even during busy periods, the speed and quality were reliable. The donuts still maintain a good standard, but the specialty flavoured drinks are all starting to taste the same, either overpoweringly like plain coffee or watery and weak. The burgers also need improvement, particularly the buns. They would benefit from being lightly toasted, as they currently taste dry and cheap compared to the rest of the burger. Warmth and consistency could also be better. At the moment, I’d say Starbucks is doing a better job on drink consistency if you mention extra hot. So until I hear things have got better, I'll be giving here a miss for now, as the quality doesn't reflect the prices.”

“Tim Hortons was a mixed experience overall. The food was just okay and didn’t really stand out, but the drink I had was nice and enjoyable. The doughnuts, however, were superb—definitely the highlight of the visit. I’d happily go back for a coffee and a doughnut, but I probably wouldn’t order the food again. Staff were great.”
