About Spice Hut
Spice Hut is an Indian takeaway in Derby, at 1264 London Rd, and its Mix 7 platter is made for a family to share. The menu goes beyond the Indian cuisine to include kebabs, with chicken kebab and donner among them, and pizza for anyone who wants something different from curry. Because the kitchen works as a takeaway, the food is meant to be collected and eaten at home. Orders are taken by phone.

Customer Review Summary
Kebabs draw the most mentions. One reviewer calls the shop the only kebab place they frequent, and another praises a generous portion, noting a call to clarify the order before delivery. A family of five found the Mix 7 enough to feed everyone, and their children preferred its donner to one from elsewhere. Close behind, the chilli hot sauce and naans earn praise, and one reviewer singles out the pizza. The main complaint is slipping quality. Two longtime customers say the naan and portions have shrunk, and one adds that the bottles of pop taste frozen. Another found four bones in a chicken kebab. Delivery draws complaints too, including a kebab order that arrived late and was different from what was ordered, so two friends had to unwrap their food to see whose was whose. Phone ordering is a sore point: one caller says they could not be understood, and another says they were asked for an extra delivery charge.

“Normally a regular here and I have noticed a decline recently in quality and customer service. Lastnight is the last time not only did it take 1hour and 10 mins for a basic curry bear in mind I live around the corner but have young kids. They handled it poorly when I called, when I eventually got it the driver asked me if i wanted the change witch is wrong its self, so I dident end up with that back and 20 mins after I had eaten the food vomit for the whole night and from the morning on and off The toilet, and being pretty spicy was extremely unpleasant was a waste start to finish. I ordered from here every week and that’s the final”

“Tried to place an order tonight the guy on the phone can’t understand what I’m saying. Not very good customer service. I’ve now ordered from else where due to this becoming a regular thing”
