Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the Branzino, called exquisite and large, with the roast potatoes alongside it also praised as exquisite. The tiramisu comes close behind, described as perfect and as one of the best a reviewer has had. Others name the meatballs under melted cheese, the chicken and chorizo risotto, cheese garlic bread with well-done chips, and a Sunday lunch with tender meat. Portions are repeatedly called generous or huge, and reviewers describe the interior as classy, modern and beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere. Service is described as friendly, attentive and quick, including kindness to children. Several mention value, with happy hour and cheaper early-evening starters and mains. The one recurring-style complaint is a single set menu diner who cannot have sugar and asked to swap dessert for an extra starter, a side or a coffee. They were told no and felt excluded. One family with two children, arriving on a busy Valentine's evening, was fitted in by the owner without a reservation.

“Stayed over in Darlington on Friday and went to Tre Armici for our 6pm booking. We were in a group of six and we all had a lovely evening. Great food and excellent service.”

“Quite simply the best restaurant in the town centre in my opinion. After having visited easily dozens of times in recent years and having ordered dishes from every section of the menu - which is itself large and quite diverse - I can only say that the execution of such an array of flavours by the chefs is exemplary. The serving staff are always friendly and attentive. Christian in front of house is a true professional and always happy to see us. The restaurant itself has a comfortable and classy aesthetic and the price you pay for the experience on offer, I believe, cannot be argued with. It’s gotten to the point where we’ve visited often enough that I’m ordering things I wouldn’t normally order just to see if the staff can produce the entire menu equally well. It comes as no surprise whatsoever to me, they can. Photo of the Branzino attached and yes it was exquisite.”

“Lovely food, great service and nice decor and atmosphere. I was initially disappointed that £20 deal shown in the photos has now finished, but it was still great value for a lovely meal. Many starters and main courses are still about £2 cheaper before 6.30. (The desserts are now full price but the portions are so generous that you might not need one !!) We'll be back 😃”

“Went for Sunday lunch and it was huge and amazing! The meat was so tender! I've been several occasions before and had meals which were from the standard menu and they were absolutely beautiful too. Can't fault the service and the quickness of receiving my meal after ordering. Would definitely recommend!”
