Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the food itself, with praise for fresh, delicious Chinese dishes such as the king prawn and tofu hot and sour, prawn noodles and starters, along with a presentation one diner calls appetising. Several describe good value, and one likes watching dishes cooked through the open kitchen view. The dominant complaint is timing. Reviewers report collection orders quoted at 10 or 20 minutes taking 25 to 30 minutes longer, and delivery orders arriving well after the promised time, one after two phone calls and another when the driver could not find the address. One diner was told the fishcakes had run out after waiting at the counter, and received a refund for them. Others say the food arrived too salty or spicier than before, and one describes burnt, dry crispy pork in chilli garlic sauce and a thinned out Thai red curry. One reviewer reports being unwell after eating the chicken and mentions trays of meat sitting out. The waiting area is described as cold because the automatic door keeps opening for the Co-op next door.

“My experience is nothing less than loveable. The staff are lovely people, the owner is a local northerner, the other people in the restaurant are asian. They are friendly and well spoken. I have only had Chinese food from this restaurant, the Chinese food is absolutely delicious and the way they present the food to you is really appetising and pleasing. Eventhough its a takeaway/cafe it easily competes with a dedicated restaurant. The value for money is good. You get the impression when your at this place you can have all your needs met. The food tastes really good, is presented really nicely. There's a toilet in the back.”

“Ordered online for collection as my wife was nearby and on her way home. Website said 10 minutes, my wife had to wait an additional 30 minutes! Other customers were also late getting their food. This was on a Wednesday night, not the weekend! Staff were rude, no apology for the delay. We hoped the food would redeem matters, but it was too salty, and spicier than it should have been. First time back here since the poor hygeine scandal a few years back, won't be back.”

“Ordered food for 1 person and was told would be 10 minutes, 25 minutes later I received my food and it was extremely spicy compared to when I have had it previously. I believe the chicken has given me food poisoning as I have been extremely unwell since eating from here and this may be due to the big trays of meat just sat out in the open. Been coming here for years and this will be the last.”

“Absolutely delicious, fresh food and amazing value for money. We tried starters, tofu and king prawn hot and sour dishes and prawn noodles and they were all lovely, very fresh and yummy. Thank you for a lovely birthday dinner.”
