About The Foundry Arms
The Foundry Arms is a family-run pub and restaurant on Church St, in a village 3 miles inland from Cromer, where guests can bring their dogs inside and sit with them. It opens daily. The bar pours real ales, lagers, bottled beers, spirits and wine. The kitchen cooks seafood and roasts, with crab linguine, a Cromer lobster platter and fish dishes on the Specials board. Sunday lunch is a roast beef dinner served with cauliflower cheese. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are on the menu too. A pie of the day and a cheese and bacon burger sit alongside the fish and chips. Inside, the bar area has darts, horse brasses and a mural.

Customer Review Summary
Crab linguine is the dish reviewers raise most, with diners saying it didn't hold back on the crab and comparing it to a top Italian restaurant in London. Close behind are the seafood dishes more broadly: the Cromer lobster platter, the Norfolk crab salad, and fish and chips described as very fresh with generous portions. The Sunday roast draws repeated praise, particularly the roast beef with all the trimmings and complimentary cauliflower cheese, and one reviewer singles out a lemon parfait enrobed in white chocolate. Staff are described as friendly, welcoming and obliging, with walk-ins accommodated, and several mention how dog friendly the pub is. Reviewers also credit the cozy spaces and the garden area with shade. The recurring caveats are practical: a few say booking is needed when busy, and one warns the car park is quite small. One reviewer found their roast beef overcooked, though the chicken at the same table was great. One diner finished with a few games of darts after Sunday lunch.

“I am so happy to once again say how much I enjoyed the Sunday Lunch @ the Foundry Arms,Northrepps just a few miles from Cromer where I am staying. The standards certainly have not dropped. I was totally impressed with the quality of the food, the charming, friendly service and the ambience. I felt relaxed sitting in the bar area supping my beer and I was not disappointed when the roast beef complete with all the trimmings arrived. It was reasonably priced too. Obviously it has a good reputation as locals and holidaymakers were constantly coming and going Full marks, you made me feel welcome and will return.”

“Enjoyed lunch there today with my two dogs, never been before but will definitely visit again. I had the fish and chips, fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The hosts were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I chose to eat inside as it was quite humid. I was shown to a table by the window which gave a lovely breeze. The outside area was very pleasant with shade available. Excellent service, highly recommend”

“Was in the area of Cromer, and was looking for a crab dish - this place came up. Called in there today and had a delicious crab linguine, they didn’t hold back on the crab. Also a burger with cheese and bacon, again a lovely meal - I wouldn’t ask for anything extra on it. Staff were friendly, beer was great. Met a couple with 3 very well behaved dogs, as with everyone we met there were very friendly. Would recommend if you are I the area, or even further afield!!”

“Excellent freshly cooked food in lovely rural location. Convenient car park. Good choices for those with allergies - i.e. gluten free. Super dog friendly. Excellent fish and chips with generous portions.”

“Dropped in on an early Friday evening as an off chance drive by. We received a super friendly welcome, were put straight to a table and then presented with an excellent menu catering for all tastes. We chose the Norfolk Crab Salad and Crab linguine, both first class. The linguine especially was right up there with anything you'd get in a top Italian restaurant in London. Service from start to finish was great, big smiles and very attentive. And vg value too. Well done Foundry Arms, we'll be back!”

“Family run pub & restaurant set in a quiet, wonderful North Norfolk village 3 miles inland from the popular seaside town of Cromer. Offering a range of real ales, lagers, bottles, spirits and wine. Excellent home cooked food, created with the freshest of ingredients by our dedicated and talented chefs. Whilst our steaks and fish are some of the best in Norfolk we also offer a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Our excellent staff continually receive great reviews and rightly so as they offer superb service being attentive yet unintrusive. Recent changes include our new spectacular garden which diners & drinkers love in equal measure & we are always making those other small positive changes which matter so much. See you soon.”
