Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the generous, fresh home cooking at this pub, naming homemade lasagne, scampi with homemade chips, fish and chips, and a steak pie one diner calls the best out there. A vegetarian pizza and sweet chilli halloumi wraps also get singled out, and one reviewer describes a Sunday lunch as fresh and very hot. Close behind is the outdoor space, where diners describe sitting in the garden in the sunshine, watching football under a sturdy roof, and letting children use the play area. Dog friendly and family friendly come up too. Staff are repeatedly called welcoming, polite and hard working. The only criticism is minor: one reviewer found the fries a bit dry and said the food is not as good as a nearby pub, while still calling it really good for a local. One reviewer advises pre-booking a table because the pub is popular. Another diner asked for a steak medium rare and received it medium rare, properly rested and tender.

“I really can't fault this place if you're expecting typical pub food. The one I would recommend would be fish and chips if you eat fish, vegetarian pizza and I had really good sweet chilli halloumi wraps. The fries were a bit dry but that's it really. Is it as good as the local bear's paw. No it's not, but as the local pub food really good. I also love the outside area, especially in a hot weather. And there's a playground for kids too. The prices are reasonable and the customer service excellent. I would highly recommend it.”
