Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the Sunday roast and the Yorkshire pudding, from a giant one to a filled version stuffed with roast beef, vegetables and potatoes. Roast beef and pork with mashed potato and gravy get warm mentions. The suet pie, paprikash chicken, scampi, gammon, curry and hunter's chicken follow close behind, along with haddock and chips. The sticky toffee sponge is singled out for dessert, and the draught beer selection earns repeated nods. Staff are described as welcoming and attentive, and several call the food reasonably priced with good portion sizes. Complaints are small and specific: one diner wanted more vegetables on the plate, and another found the vanilla ice cream too sweet and slimy after an excellent haddock and chips. One group of seven who booked a table said they were made to feel welcome, though they found the pub quiet.

“I came here Sunday lunchtime due to recommendation of a friend and I have to say, they didn't disappoint. Very well priced food which is cooked beautifully. Incredibly tasty. Wait staff were also very attentive and they made the experience lovely. The place was busy, but not too loud. My only complaint and it's very small is to up the vegetable portion a little more. I felt like I could have done with a little more in that regard. Overall, a very enjoyable meal which I'd recommend to any of you.”

“Lovely pub & dining venue! Great selection of draught beers and simple yet high quality food options - we had the curry, gammon, scampi and hunter’s chicken - all very well prepared. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was great for having a chat over a meal. Will definitely visit again!”

“Simply the best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time. Main course was:- 1 of us had beef, 1 beef & 2 had pork, all with roast & mashed potato, various vegetables & Yorkshire pudding. All lovely with smashing gravy!! The sticky toffee sponge was truly amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you”
