  “Lovely latte and carrot cake! Never seen an action carrot iced on top so that was fun. I will say it’s a very sweet cake so just get a plain coffee with no syrup!”

  “Stopped by here yesterday as the window egg chairs were available! Having passed here quite a few times it looked nice and was usually busy. The service was excellent and the staff were extremely professional and friendly. The coffee was excellent and tasty. I was surprised how reasonable the price was too.”

  “Not too busy quiet cafe easy to Catch up with someone or gather your thoughts with a great atmosphere and a large menu to chose from it was a nice place to stop and have a drink and even just look out at the town would highly recommend”

  “Really enjoy their frappe milkshakes. Unlike some other cafes where the milkshakes/frappes are very thick and heavy the ones at Cremaaa were a lot lighter which I preferred. Super tasty, will be back.”

  “Visited for the first time last weekend, and there won’t be a return visit. While the staff were friendly, service was good, and so was the coffee, the provision for gluten-free was severely lacking. While I asked if they had gluten-free options, I was pointed to the shelves which contained a lot of gluten-containing produce, with supposed gluten-free options on the same shelf and right next to these, with no coverings. This is utterly unsuitable for coeliacs and those who are otherwise wheat allergic, like myself. I was also told there “may” be some GF options at the front in packets (there was nothing immediately obvious). So while my friends enjoyed a cake or pastry, I was left without. If Cremaaa are serious about catering for gluten-free, please consider having a separate container well away from the gluten-containing produce. Having them presented as they are immediately guarantees cross-contamination which would be detrimental to health. Edited to respond to Cremaaa: I asked the assistant at the time about GF options, with a very vague response from them about the availability, and no questions from them if I had an allergy and suggestion of alternatives from the back being available. Given this response, and having been in many places before who don’t know how to cater for GF, this gave me no confidence that anything would be safe. Indeed, you’ve even confirmed in your response that the goods aren’t guaranteed to be GF due to production methods. So my point from before still stands about being serious on catering for GF. I shall be using other locations who take their allergy food safety a lot more seriously.”

  “Had the tiramisu cake. Wonderfully presented, but needs more coffee in it!!! Coffee was nothing special. The disabled toilets are absolutely woeful. Needs updating. No soap & it smells absolutely revolting in there. Needs a deep clean & air freshener.”

  “I discovered this place three years ago and since then I kept coming back weekly and brought all my friends with me. The cafe is a family business so the owner and the staff are always extremely nice and welcoming, the coffee is amazing and the food menu is very diverse, but I must say that their carrot cake is probably the most amazing option you are going to have. If you are in Colchester, I would recommend paying them a visit.”
