Customer Review Summary

Staff singing happy birthday is the detail reviewers raise most, with one calling the harmonies done incredibly well and another describing it with an ice cream. Several came to celebrate family birthdays and describe a welcoming Italian atmosphere. Among the food, diners name the Gnocchi Etna, described as excellent but very filling, alongside the cherry cheesecake, the antipasti sharing platter, meatballs, and tagliatelle Diavalo with freshly made pasta and steak. Others praise the carbonara, lasagne, authentic pizzas, a pistachio pizza, and desserts such as brownies, homemade fudge and affogatos. Reviewers also mention a playground outside for children. The recurring caveat is pace. One diner felt rushed, with a second and third waiter approaching before they had finished looking at the menu, even though the restaurant was far from full, while another says the food took a while to arrive. One of them still called the wait worthwhile. A Valentine's Day diner received chocolate hearts with the bill.

“Came here as part of an evening plan, first some food then later on go to the cinema up the road. Luciano's is in a lovely setting and as you walk in,it has a very relaxed feel to the place with its layout, very much in keeping with the area its set in. Once sat down we soon had someone asking if we'd like a drink which we duly did,No sooner had we started to look at the menu though,Another waiter came over to take our order, We hadnt got past what wed like for starters..? We hadnt even taken a drink at that point,it was literally that quick. So that felt a little rushed, although they were happy to come back to give us a little more time to see what was on offer. Then pretty much straight away,Another waiter came over to see what we'd like,So its definitely got that feel of hurriedness by this point,Although it was far from full at this time,But we do think this is how quite a few Italian restaurants work,So maybe its something to do with how they prepare their food maybe ?Not sure? That said, The food we ordered was delicious,The Gnocchi Etna that I tried was excellent - very filling though,So only go for that if your really hungry! It was excellent though,As was the cherry cheesecake afterwards,Im useless at resisting a dessert... Another point,Their were a couple of people there were it was their birthdays,And im not usually one for were the staff gather round them and sing 'Happy Birthday' - But,Credit to the staff here,As they do it incredibly well,Harmonies,The lot! They do it good,So applauses there. All in all,Its a lovely place,Good food,Good vibe,But feels busy and slightly rushed when perhaps it doesn't necessarily need to feel so. We'll definitely visit again though.”

“Wow wow wow. What amazing food. Absolutely delicious, gorgeous quality food. We started off with one of these gorgeous antipasti sharing platters which was absolutely delicious. We got the sharer for 2 and shared it between 5 of us and it was more than enough! The flavours in their food was absolutely incredible. Perfect sized portions and bursting with flavour. The vibes were immaculate. The atmosphere was gorgeous. We went to celebrate a birthday and the staff came and sang happy birthday with an ice cream. Wonderful experience.”

“Went to celebrate a family birthday and as per usual we had an incredible time. Quintessential Italian atmosphere with fantastic food. The meatballs for starters were a crowd pleaser, and the tagliatelle Diavalo main course was beautiful, freshly made pasta with a generous amount of steak added. The desserts were gorgeous too, brownies, homemade fudge selection and affogatos. Great playground outside too for the kids to have fun in safely. Always a great time there and didn’t disappoint on this visit!”
