Quick info
About La Cava Restaurant
La Cava Restaurant is an Italian restaurant on Wigan Road in Wigan, serving a menu that runs from lasagne and prawns and pasta through to parmesan and truffle fries, with multi-course meals available and cocktails poured alongside. A private dining room sits at the back for groups, and desserts are sent home with guests who want to finish them later. Cocktails are mixed at the bar, and the kitchen covers pasta, parmesan-dusted fries and prawn dishes across the menu. The dining room takes reservations, which are required, and seating is by booking. Wait times can stretch long once a table is in, with evenings running over an hour on busy nights. The room is set up for multi-course meals and group bookings, and the kitchen sends any unfinished dessert out the door.

“Bland food. Parmesan and truffle fries lack Parmesan and truffle. No flavour to the prawns and pasta sauce tasted of oil.”

“We come here on a Friday evening once or twice a month. The food is always gorgeous and the staff are really friendly. The restaurant is immaculate and has a great atmosphere!”

“The Food, vibes and staff were absolutely lovely. Very warm and welcoming. I'm rather introverted and try to warn beforehand, if I ever come off as rude I never mean to. I'm working on building my confidence up. Everything is reasonably priced the only issue I had was the wait, I accidentally overstayed my 1.5 hour reservation. Will definitely come again, though! 2 cocktails, a starter, main and dessert with soft drink came to less than £50. They let me take my dessert home too which was lovely 😊”

“Very disappointed today. The food was awful, I spoke to the staff about it and it fell on deaf ears. They were not interested at all. We will not be going again.”
