  “I usually love spending my lunch break at Chans. The food is tasty, freshly cooked, and usually the staff is very friendly. Two days ago at lunchtime, there was a lady at the till I personally haven't come across yet. She was very impatient, raised her voice, basically shouting at my colleague and me. I understand we can all have bad days, but working in hospitality needs professionalism.. the lady's behaviour was unacceptable. Will turn right around and opt for a different restaurant when I spot her next. A real shame”

  “Wow!!! It’s no wonder the Harlem Globetrotters were ordering 40 dishes from these guys while we were there. This place knows how to do Chinese properly and their VEGAN options are unlike any other takeaway place I’ve tried before. Not only are their vegan dishes similar to their meaty counterparts, they use AMAZING meat substitutes (and plentiful) that wouldn’t let on that they aren’t even meat. We ordered one of everything off the menu and they even took out the oyster sauce for the veggies we wanted. This place is cheap, they give great portions, and every dish was delicious. Probably loaded with MSG but it’s worth it. 😂”

  “IF YOU HAVE SEVERE ALLERGIES AVOID I went in on Thursday night with a couple of friends there was only us and one other table in there so wasn’t too busy. It was an inviting atmosphere, the place was really bright, the menu looked amazing and there was loads of veggie/vegan options. The tables were clean and there was additional chilli and soy sauce on the table. My friends ordered and I ordered a chilli quid and a vegan box. I explained to the lady working I have a pineapple intolerance but the kitchen doesn’t need to be wiped down I just cannot eat it or have it in my food. I asked if the sweet and sour sauce had any pineapple juice in it as some places make it that way I was assured it did not. I got my food and ate a few bites of the noodles and one bit of vegan chicken then saw there was pineapple in my food. I didn’t eat any of it but honestly they didn’t really take it seriously. They gave me a free drink. the lady was nice and asked if I was ok and offered to recook the food but I didn’t trust them to remake it as I was really clear when ordering what I couldn’t have. I checked the squid and just ate that as there was none in it. If you have severe allergies I wouldn’t risk eating here in honesty. I leave very fair reviews and the place was clean and the staff were polite but I wouldn’t return.”

Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. They made us feel right at home and ensured we had everything we needed.   “Good food. Been meaning to try for a while. There’s quite a few dishes I wanted to try, so I’ll have to go back! I got the “saliva chicken” because I hadn’t seen it on a menu around here for a while. Delicious! Also opted for the cucumber salad and some plain rice. Salad was nice and fresh and the rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. Staff were helpful and friendly. Prices are pretty fair in my opinion, too.”

  “The food was excellent, really. The red braised belly pork was perfect. The service was also good. The music was too loud and not to my taste but they’re catering to a younger crowd, I get that. But one star lost because of a couple of small concerns - a sticky table and awful cutlery (a mixture of wood and single use plastic, which is probably not even legal now). Wooden utensils are ok for take-away, but for eating in, they’re really not ideal. I’d eat here again but I’d probably take in my own cutlery and maybe a wipe for the table”

  “Chans Noodle Bar is a great addition to Cardiff bay. Inside has great Air conditioning, comfortable seats and clean tables. You can see the kitchen from your seats as you wait for your food. Food came quickly to our table, portion sizes are larger than expected which was welcomed! The 123 noodle box and the stir fried ho fun with beef were both excellent.”
