Customer Review Summary
Pollo ad Astra is the pizza reviewers name most, with one calling its flavour combination phenomenal and others ordering it as part of the Power Lunch, which diners praise for the amount of food it brings. A La Reine and a crispy Funghi di Bosco also get mentions. Close behind is the service. Several reviewers single out individual waiters as kind and helpful, including one who suggested what to order from the lunch deal and another who did not blink at a tween birthday party's impromptu congo lines. Large groups and a family celebrating an uncle's birthday also say they felt welcome. Desserts draw praise too, with the tiramisu and baked cheesecake described as delicious. Not everyone is won over. One diner found the dough balls and fried calamari just ok, and a delivery customer describes cold food, soggy chips, a pizza base left uncovered and small portions, and asks for a refund. One family ends their account with the waiter bringing three spoons for the tiramisu, which the uncle finished alone.

“This is a fairly casual place. The service was good. We started with the dough balls and the garlic butter. They were just ok, really nothing special. The fried calamari was just ok as well. Nice dipping sauce though. We got a Funghi di Bosco pizza with black olives added. The pizza was nice and crispy, and had a pretty good taste. All in all, not bad, but nothing really spectacular either.”

“A huge group of us were booked in on a Monday evening and we were all made to feel so welcome. We were served by Diana and she was so kind and looked after us so well she deserves all the stars!!! Thank you so much! A brilliant location and food as delicious as you would expect from pizza express.”

“Excellent service from Dan and Deana! They were incredibly helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make it a great experience. They are a credit to the company and are one of the reasons we would visit this particular pizza express again. The food was prompt (meaning we had plenty of time before our train) and the pizzas and the baked cheesecake were delicious!!”

“We descended onto the central Cambridge Pizza Express for a birthday with 7 hyperactive tween girls with a panopoly of dietary requirements. Crystofer was so sweet taking their orders for what was a deeply new experience for all of them. He did not blink at the impromptu congo lines, and was, essentially, their food god. The menu was such good value and they loved it.”
