About The Sage of Cambridge
The Sage of Cambridge is a coffee shop in Cambridge at 33A Milton Rd, located inside a hotel with its own coffee bar. Breakfast and brunch are on offer, along with a cake selection that includes ube cake. A yogurt bowl combines natural yogurt, homemade granola and berries, and the matcha drinks include a hot matcha latte made with coconut milk. The team sources locally and ethically where it can and develops plant-based dishes and treats. After dark, the daytime coffee shop turns into a bar serving natural and organic wines and aperitifs. The spacious venue suits groups and has hosted monthly photography community meetings and food photography workshops. The Fellows bar can be reached from the venue.

Reviewers most often mention ube cake, matcha latte, yogurt bowl with granola and barista-made coffee.
Customer Review Summary
Ube cake is the most specific draw, with one reviewer calling it delicious and perfectly balanced, and another, who found the cake selection smaller than usual at brunch, asking for it to be brought back. Coffee comes close behind, with reviewers praising a smooth, full-flavoured cup from a barista, piping hot drinks, and a hot matcha latte with coconut milk. The yogurt bowl with natural yogurt, homemade granola and berries is described as a very generous portion. Pastries and cakes also earn mentions. Reviewers describe a relaxed, calming room with photos on the walls, and staff as kind, warm and welcoming. Several photography groups hold monthly meetings and a food photography workshop here, noting the space is big enough for all members and that staff set aside room and dishes to photograph. The one lukewarm note calls the food generally tasty but familiar, with the ambiance standing out more. One diner mentions staff checking in halfway through the meal.

“Way way way overdue, but the matches are incredible and I met a lovely hostess named Olive and ended up in a conversation with her about our shared love with the Entergalactic movie, she was so kind and lovely! I will definitely find time to come back!”

“We hold our monthly meetings for UK Social Photography, the staff are warm and welcoming and helpful as I have a family member who needs help with mobility. On Sunday we had a workshop on product photography the helped us with a space to use and dishes to photograph The food smells and look wonderful. We had an enjoyable afternoon in great surroundings.”

“At the Sage of Cambridge, we encourage indulgence. But not at the expense of good habits. Quite the opposite. We draw on all our team's wisdom to create delicious dishes, bites, and snacks that are as wholesome as they are hearty. Our coffees and teas will always leave you feeling uplifted and never let down. We source locally and ethically wherever we can and our plant-based experiments are the ultimate in guilt-free treats. And the indulgence keeps on going after dark. Our cleverly-designed space transforms into a vibrant wine and aperitifs bar serving natural and organic wines which make after-work drinks a not-so-guilty pleasure too.”
