About Dom's Coffee
On Mill Rd in Cambridge, Dom's Coffee is a coffee shop that keeps phones and devices out of the room, so a visit is built around the cup and the conversation, and no photos are taken inside. The menu includes a flat white, a cappuccino served as a split shot, and a pour over. New beans rotate in, with a house blend on offer alongside a guest espresso. Plants run throughout the space. Payment is cash only, so bring notes or coins, as cards are not taken.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the coffee itself, with the cappuccino, flat white, espresso and pour over named most. One describes the cappuccino as smooth and fruity, another says the milk was perfectly textured, and a third recommends the pour over for the chance to be walked through the whole process. The guest espresso is called distinct and interesting, and several mention new beans on offer. Close behind is the owner, described as knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and great to chat to, and the homely, calming room with its plants and toys for little ones. Several note that no devices or photos are allowed, which keeps visitors in the moment and in conversation with other patrons. The recurring caveat is payment: reviewers say card payments are not taken and repeatedly tell visitors to bring cash, and one adds that the opening time can be a bit random. One reviewer who asked for cake was given recommendations as soon as they walked in.

“This was the best coffee I have ever had in Cambridge. We were immediately made to feel welcome and we were walked through the menu. The vibe of the place was so calming and warm. The quality of the coffee was fantastic as well, it was so smooth and he was able to bring out all the flavor notes of the coffee. This is the place to go!”

“The best coffee you can find in Cambridge and probably even a rare find in the UK. The owner is definitely passionate about coffee. I had a very smooth and fruity cappuccino which is made of good quality Arabica coffee bean under good extraction techniques. I’m not a coffee expert but this is highly recommended. Bring cash and be patient, the opening time can be a bit random though”

“Believe the hype! More than just coffee, a friendly escape where there are no phones used or photos taken, just enjoy the coffee and chat. Had a delicious espresso and chatted about coffee and travels. Loved watching the preparation of the various coffees. It is well worth a visit, not snobby or elitist, just coffee and chat (latter not obligatory). Special mention to getting recommendations when i first went in and said i needed some cake. Glad i went back to try the coffee and will definitely go back again when in Cambridge.”

“What a pleasure it was to be a frequent customer at Dom’s during our time in Cambridge. Not only does Dom make a consistently excellent coffee, but he has a way of making customers feel right at home. He’s great to chat to and creates an atmosphere worth visiting. The toys for little ones is an added bonus. We will miss Doms Coffee when we return to Australia. A truly unique experience.”

“Immaculate vibes, Dom might be the most knowledgeable person I’ve ever met when it comes to coffee. Always excited to visit whenever I get the chance to try out what new beans he’s got to offer. Makes a mean flat white, but definitely recommend trying a pour over where he can take you through the entire process of making.”
