  “First time in a while ive been there, usually very good but going by tonights curries I will not be returning, the curry was so watery and the curry tasted like someone had just thrown curry powder into water and brought it to the boil and added a few ingredients, no depth or body to it at all soooo sad”

  “£52 for basically very poor food. My ribs in hot bbq were mild in like sweet and sour. Chips were overcooked?, fried rice could have been boiled rice and nobody else really enjoyed their meal. Maybe one off but poor.”

  “First time and never again. Chicken chow mien had slimy weird smelling chicken, chips were like cardboard, I've never had a Chinese like it. It just wasn’t fresh.. maybe they warm it up or keep it warm for too long. We all had a few mouthfuls and threw the rest away. Such a waste of money. I don’t understand the good reviews”

  “Ok loved this. Ordering was easy staff were friendly. Delivery was quick and driver lovely. It was reasonably priced. The best thing is the food itself was not oily / greasy. Rice and chicken balls lovely and dry, curry and chow mein tasty and made with decent ingredients. Honestly I couldn’t fault it !”

  “Best Chinese I've ever had - duck and pineapple was delicious, tender meat, juicy and fresh tasting, lovely duck pancakes. And they sell my fave, seaweed! Thank you. Just a shame they don't take card payments...”

  “This is my regular Chinese take away. Staff always friendly, speed of preparation for collection, or speed of delivery never disappoints. The food is always good, and over the years of having food from them, I think I could count on one hand the number of times I have had an issue of something being left out or the like. When it happens they always remedy the situation satisfactorily. My only negative is not food related, its that they stopped taking card payments.”

  “Service is quick and friendly and the food tastes great and fresh. Have tried a few different dishes and all have been quite delicious. Really happy to have found this place and that we know where to go to get a decent Chinese. Great Chinese place - its not Debbie’s Red Lantern but the New Red Lantern and totally different owners now. There is parking outside available and there is a cash point right next door if you have forgotten cash as they don’t take cards.”

  “Tried this Chinese for the first time as our regular place we order from doesn't open on a Tuesday .... my suspicions were confirmed, possibly the worst " Chinese " ( if you can call it that) I have ever tasted. No authenticity about the dishes we orderd whatsoever. Think the "chefs" need to take a day trip to China town in London and train their pallets into tasting REAL Chinese cuisine . Steer clear if you know your Chinese !”

  “Of all the Chinese takeaways in the area, this has always been our favourite - lovely, light fried rice, tasty mains which are often a little lighter and tastier than the average takeaway. Incredibly speedy service other than at the very busiest periods, and food always fresh and piping hot. Chicken spring rolls are really great, as are the satays and black bean sauce dishes in particular. Now under new ownership, but quality is every bit as good as in Debbie's day, and while some dishes have changed flavour a little, still very good quality.”
