The praise centers on the salt and pepper chips, described as crunchy outside and fluffy in the middle, with the chow mein, chilli beef and beef udon also named as tasty. “I am someone who looks for the positives and not focus too much on the negatives and I rarely submit a negative review, I can count on one hand when I have done. Firstly I do give credit to the food I have personally eaten, I can’t fault it, the service unfortunately doesn’t leave you with much positives to go on. I have been using oriental sunrise for almost 25 years, when Covid hit the only payment they accepted was bank transfer so I had there details on my payee list. I am disabled so although I have been coming here for the past 25 years, it has been less frequent when I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease that unfortunately has me house bound for days at a time And hospital stays including 4 times in intensive care, the point I’m getting at is when I was able to do the job I loved I was able to have takeaways weekly knowing I was financially stable, but not exaggerating a single bit, having a takeaway now is a well worked out penny saving once in a blue moon enjoyment so when my benefits were paid I always immediately transfer £200 a month to my ex to help towards the upbringing of our daughter, the rest on bills and what’s left depends on how far my shopping goes, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this for any pity as some ppl might interpret it, I worked hard and I’m not in need of anything, I make what I get stretch as much as it needs to be, I have a healthy and bright beautiful, funny truly amazing daughter who I share 50/50 parenting with her mum who thankfully we share the same views and try our best to make sure our daughter has the love and support of both parents, everything else to me is doable with or without money as long as I have a roof over my head and all the outgoing that come with that are dealt with and I do as much as I can to help financially for my daughter, but I sent oriental sunrise £200 by mistake that was meant to go to my ex, I was actually talking to a friend about having enough to buy a chow main but as I was doing so I sent them £200. I called them immediately and explained, I was told to come there the next day after 5pm and they will give me the cash. But when I got there the next evening I was told they would have to speak to the bank to get a code and they will transfer the money the next day. The next day I was told they can’t do anything because the bank said it has to be my bank who retrieves it, my bank said the quickest way would be to get my money transferred directly from the takeaway, and if I had done everything possible to talk to the recipient and resolve it ourselves, the takeaway still refuses to transfer my money back and the bank I’m with, pocket has up to 60 days and it’s still not guaranteed I will get my money back. It’s now been 30 days and my mental health has taken a battering. “Everything is doable” has never been more untrue, I used my money for bills and shopping not thinking for one min it would take more the a couple of days to be resolved, my life has certainly taken a nose dive firstly hands up for an innocent mistake of not concentrating but I have done everything that has been asked but my life is still spiralling, my bank has told me there was no reason at all that had stopped them transferring my money back in terms of there is nothing that needs to be done accept return my payment, so as you can probably tell, I’m not there best supporter right now, not because there food isn’t good because I have always found it’s been good, but how much my life has changed over what some ppl might see as a little bit of money, I used to have the attitude of everything is doable with or without money, my ignorance has been battered with a reality check.”
