Customer Review Summary

Pizza slices are the draw reviewers raise most, with diners praising a crunchy, crisp base, good sauce and generous toppings, including a mushroom pizza and a vegan pizza. Close behind are the arancini, one with cheese and smoked ham, and the paninis, whose crust one reviewer says you can hear from a mile away. Desserts also come up, among them the large Sicilian cannolo, tiramisu, ice-cream and a vegan red velvet cake, along with a hot chocolate described as thick. Vegan and dairy free options are mentioned repeatedly, and many reviewers call the staff friendly and welcoming, with one group noting the family made sure a large table was ready after a call ahead. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the service impolite, with no greetings or thanks and food delivered without a word, and an iced latte that was bitter and watery. A couple describe the space as small but cosy, and one reviewer, a regular since 2018, says the food is always fresh.

“Very good and authentic feeling Italian cafe for light bites (slices, arancini, focaccia). Really good pizza slices, crunchy base and good sauce. Arancino was also very good, simple but hearty. We had the cheese and smoked ham version. Hot chocolate here is thicc (see picture of it on a spoon) and the canoli are indulgent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is completed with animated discussions in Italian and resident slim cigarette chain-smoker. I'd recommend this place for an easy lunch and good coffee over any corporate chains you get about town!”

“Consistently excellent food and very friendly staff. Simple but high quality food, also has a selection of vegan and dairy free options.”

“Popped in today while passing, so glad we did. My daughter had ice-cream, apparently even better than her previous favourite ice-cream, and I had tiramisu which was frankly perfect. Really friendly staff, will definitely be back to sample more of what they offer. Definitely worth a visit.”

“I had a margherita pizza slice and an iced latte. The pizza was tasty. The iced latte wasn't particularly great, a bit too bitter and... watery perhaps? I'm not 100% sure they used normal milk, come to think of it. They never asked, to be fair. The interior is quite cosy and spacious upstairs for a short stay. The service was subpar. They were quick (although the place was virtually empty at ~2:30pm when I visited), but otherwise not very polite. Food and drink were brought to me without a word. No smiles, no polite phrases like "please" and "thanks" when I placed the order, paid or thanked them for bringing the order. Blank stares and no social skills whatsoever. Made me think I probably won't be back. I have a Neapolitan flatmate, so I know people from that area can be warm and welcoming. Didn't get that at this cafe.”

“I am 100% Italian, and today I felt right at home. Everything is perfect, everyone is very kind and affectionate, and the food is too good for words. I can't give anything less than five stars.”
