About Dream Cafe

Dream Cafe sits on Broad St in Bristol, serving breakfasts, lunches, sandwiches, and sweets to a daily walk-in crowd. Orders are placed at the counter, and there are no reservations to arrange. The breakfast wrap is on the menu alongside a cheese and mushroom omelette served with chips and salad. A step-free entrance welcomes visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Seating runs both inside and out, with a terrace area at the street front. The cafe opens daily, daytime hours only, making it suited to breakfast and lunch rather than evening visits. A bus stop and disabled parking sit right outside, making the spot straightforward to reach without a car.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is the main draw, with reviewers describing hot, freshly cooked plates that are not greasy and come in big portions. A breakfast wrap is called a "boulder" that kept one diner full all day, and a cheese and mushroom omelette with chips and salad left another unable to finish. Close behind, reviewers praise the bacon, the cappuccino and Turkish coffee, and one says it has the best coffee on the high street. Service comes up repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, including a staff member who made eye contact and smiled on arrival, and another who kept a customer's hot chocolate at an inside table while she collected her mother. Several call it very clean and good value. The caveats are specific. One reviewer found a breakfast too expensive and said they would not return, though they rated the service good. Two others note that people smoke on the enclosed terrace and conservatory area at the street front, with ashtrays out. One reviewer's visit ended with a mother who loved the decor and a plan to come back for food.

“This is the best Café in Staple Hill. Service is always 5 star from Ayesha. She is friendly and welcoming. Dream is my go to café for all occasions from Mother's day lunch to birthday coffee and cake with friends. The hot breakfasts are delicious and portions sizes are good. As a coffee lover, I really enjoy the cappuccino and Turkish coffee. Thank you Dream Café”

“First visit here today, I was surprised to see folk smoking on the mostly enclosed terrace and I felt like I was on holiday abroad for a moment! I went to the counter, ordered a hot chocolate, just as the dentist round the corner called me to say my Mum was ready to be collected. I left my drink at an inside table, the super friendly lady working today said no problem, then returned with my 94 year old Mum. She loved the decor, the coffee was good and we had a nice time chatting whilst lots of locals came and went. We didn't have food on this occasion, but will next time, we felt very welcome.”
