About Abbies Cafe
Breakfast leads the day at Abbies Cafe, a cafe on Wootton Road in Bristol. The kitchen puts out a full English breakfast, listed on the menu as the Big Breakfast, built from bacon, sausage, hash browns, fried egg and beans. Tables are walk-in only, with no bookings taken, and the cafe trades in the daytime from Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays. Seating outside gives the option of eating in the open air, and dogs are welcome at those tables. High chairs mean families with young children can settle in for a cooked breakfast without difficulty. Coffee runs alongside the food, cappuccino included.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are small but specific. One reviewer found the beans had a weird aftertaste, as if stored poorly, and got a runny yolk when asking for a proper fried egg. The same reviewer found the toilet clean but freezing cold. Another felt the full English was priced on the high end compared with nearby cafes. One longtime regular recalls staff opening a lost bag of money, finding the owner's ID, and returning it.

“This is not your average greasy spoon cafe. Excellent breakfast.”

“Very nice ladies serving but unfortunately beans in my breakfast had a weird aftertaste like if they were outdated or stored poorly, even though they were warmed up. Also I asked for a proper fried egg and got a runny yolk in the fried egg instead. Since it’s minor issues I didn’t ask for a refund or anything but in the cafe where I worked before the customer would do that 100%. Coffee is okay. toilet is clean, but freezing cold.”

“Wanted somewhere with quick service and good food this is the place! I have been to many fancy breakfasts places which almost always let me down. Not this place- It’s simple, quick and delicious 🩷🩷 Edit ** I have been back 3 times since this review! Perfect every time”

“If the builders eat there I’ll eat there! 10/10 services from them as always, will always be back, several years ago I left a bag containing a large amount of money, they opened it, found my ID and returned it, couldn’t thank them enough!”
