About St Werburghs City Farm Cafe
St Werburghs City Farm Cafe is a Bristol cafe on Watercress Rd, housed in a hobbit-style building of gnarled wood with irregular window frames and beams, and a central log burner at its middle. It sits at the heart of a working city farm with allotments in St Werburgh's. The farm supplies meat, vegetables and salad, and the kitchen also uses foraged ingredients. Allotment holders can trade surplus produce for something to eat or drink. The menu is small and changes often, with a Farmer breakfast that includes meat and a hash and bean stew on the breakfast list. Food is made to order from locally sourced ingredients. An adventure playground sits next door, and the cafe keeps books for children. The cafe has operated from this building for 20 years.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the most frequent draw, called great, tasty and some of the best in Bristol, served by friendly staff in a quirky, hobbitish building among the allotments. Close behind is breakfast, where reviewers name the farmer breakfast with local meat and the hash and bean stew, while others mention a bap, a soup and a rarebit. Reviewers also describe a community feel, children running around the playground next door, a balcony that suits sunny days, and a welcome for dogs. The recurring complaint is the small, changing menu. One visit found only four items, and two reviewers call the food expensive for the portions, noting a bap that came on its own and hoping for more options. One reviewer who had wrecked a scooter says the staff helped with first aid.

“The vibe is nice and the space is really cool. Good coffee but the food is ok and expensive for what you get as the portions are not very big. Playground nice and the farm nearby”

“really beautiful cafe amongst allotments and greenery. Really tasty coffee and breakfast menu. We tried the Hash and bean stew - 10/10! The staff are wonderfully warm and it’s a super lovely place for kids with books and a playground. Will come back!”

“It’s a great cosy cafe for breakfast or brunch. Bear in mind it’s a tiny cafe but it is gorgeous especially when it's sunny. The interior design is organic with irregular wood window frames and beams. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.”

“A great cafe with a beautiful balcony to take in the sun. Lots of little ones running around and enjoying the playground next door! Their menu changes a lot. When I went there were four items on the menu. A bap (pictured), a soup, pre-made beans on toast and a rarebit. So the selection is small but the food was good. The bap was £10 and it came on its own so I would call that expensive. The coffee was great. Would go again but would hope for more options on the menu!”
