Customer Review Summary

Coffee is the most frequent draw, with a flat white singled out as really good and a good choice of coffee and teas, often paired with a pain au raisin or carrot cake after a dog walk around the estate. Several describe friendly, efficient counter service and a lovely spot to sit, with inside and outside seating and dog bowls. Food draws the most complaints. Reviewers say savoury options are limited to toasties and cakes, and one found everything sold out by 12.30. Another was told the kitchen had closed before the posted closing time and was given a cheese roll so dry and dense it went to the dog. A vegetarian diner found no veggie breakfast roll, only bacon or sausage. Another called a bacon sandwich of overcooked bacon on white bread a rip off, and a kids meal sausage turned out to be half size. One review describes staff refusing an outside order and then asking customers to leave so they could lock up, though others found the team friendly and helpful.

“Tried twice to get something savoury at about 12.30 and they were sold out and only had cakes! I can’t understand why they don’t have frozen food that could be cooked in microwave which other places have”

“After driving especially for cafe which advertised closed at 4.30. At 3.20 ordered toasted sandwich to be told kitchen closed and a cheese roll alternative for 350 . The cheese was so thin, tasteless and processed you could not taste it as the roll was so solid, dry and dense I gave it to my dog . Very poor would not go to cafe again .”

“10am after a 2 hour lovely walk, wanted a small breakfast and coffee at the golf cafe. No longer a veggie option for a breakfast roll - only bacon or sausage (not even a veggie sausage option) and no egg option any more. I asked about the veggie sausage rolls and was told they cook them later. I was offered a toastie (which are much more expensive) or a croissant. Not good enough really - why no veggie breakfast roll?”

“Had a really good flat white coffee and gorgeous pain au raisin after our dog walk. Really friendly efficient service from the young guy behind the counter and a lovely spot to sit done after a walk around the estate.”

“Terrible service from 2 individuals who clearly hate their jobs and treat customers with complete contempt. Arrived on a windy day at 4.15pm, and order 2 coffees. Young man working inside couldn't see me standing there so I went back outside to order. At which time he spotted me and abruptly said "service only inside". We were the only customers there, and he could have taken our order easily at the outside window. And to boot only moved and ordered outside as he was paying no attention whatsoever. Then sat down to drink the coffee when both members of staff came to our table and said "can you go please we need to lock up". I said "you should have said that before or when we ordered our drinks". So the older member of staff said we could stay. At this point the younger member of staff started dragging the metal chairs about, deliberately making as much noise as possible. Rude, arrogant, individuals who don't deserve the jobs Bristol City Council have kindly given them and paid for by the hard working Bristol city residents.”
