Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the curries, naming bhuna, madras, chicken tikka masala and lamb and chicken tikka, alongside onion bhajis, popadoms and garlic naans. They describe generous portions, value they call unbeatable and friendly, welcoming staff. One reviewer calls the restaurant an institution in Brighton, and one suggests dining in rather than ordering a takeaway. Delivery draws the heaviest criticism. Several report food arriving cold, leaked into the bag or splashed across the packaging, and a couple say what they could eat tasted good. The restaurant is said to blame the couriers, and one reviewer asks for better packaging. A loyal customer says the prawn vindaloo came out very mild and the prawn saag unbelievably sweet, suspecting the flavours change from week to week. Another notes that a few curries share a common base gravy. One reviewer reports finding a fur-ball-like object in their food. Another describes undercooked chicken, shattered popadoms, a naan missing from the box and a refund refused over the phone.

“This place is an absolute institution in Brighton. It has stood the test of time for a reason: the sheer, consistent quality of their food. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the value is genuinely unbeatable—where else can you get a brilliant curry dinner for just £13 these days? Local gems like this are the heart of our community, and we need to keep supporting them so they stay open for years to come. If you are in Brighton and fancy a proper curry, do yourself a favour and check them out. Highly recommended!”

“Deliveroo driver was rude- left building door wide open - all food was cold - rice was full of water - chicken was undercooked - naan wasn’t even in the box - all popadoms shattered to peices - staff were unhelpful and rude on the phone when we were trying to explain the situation and said we weren’t allowed a refund and tried to make us order again and have to pay the full amount again!! (The cheek!) never going again, save yourself the trouble”

“Sorry but I am absolutely disgusted, what even is that????? 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 nasty found this in my food it was like a fur ball and I am pregnant and had to go be sick I am really disappointed as I only order from places with high food hygiene and did not expect this. Will be taking this further. Yuck”

“Our uni house loves this takeaway! The food is so so yummy and great value. We have taken away or gotten it delivered every time and never had any issues. Great staff and quick service.”

“We’ve been loyal customers and always order the same dishes; Prawn Vindaloo or Prawn Saag with Vndaloo sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the consistency has really gone downhill. Last time the Vindaloo was very mild and this time the Prawn Saag was unbelievably sweet. It feels like there may not be permanent chefs, as the flavours seem to change every week and not for the better. Such a shame, as this used to be our absolute favourite but now we’ll probably have to start looking for a new one. 😕🍛”
