About Mowgli Street Food Brighton
Mowgli Street Food Brighton is an Indian restaurant in Brighton at 12 - 14 Dukes Ln, open daily. The Curry Roulette is a sharing option served in tiffin tins, and swing seats in the dining room sit among natural decor. Starters include Yoghurt Chat Bombs, and Gunpowder wings are also on the menu. The vegan menu is extensive, with gluten-free options alongside it. The bar makes cocktails, among them a rose and lychee martini and an old fashioned. The restaurant gets busy. Staff explain the menu and its dishes, and plates reach the table as they are ready rather than all at once.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the tiffin-tin curries and sharing plates, with the Mowgli Roulette and its Butter Chicken, Black Daal and Goan Fish Curry described as full of flavour, alongside crispy Yoghurt Chat Bombs and Fenugreek Potatoes. Close behind are the cocktails, namely a rose and lychee martini and an old fashioned, and the swing seats in the space. Several praise the friendly staff who explain the menu, and a vegan diner found a good choice of vegan curries. Portions and value are called fair. The gunpowder wings were tasty but not outstanding for one reviewer. Service pace is the recurring complaint: one table felt forgotten before orders were taken, and another waited far too long for drinks, with no one checking on the food. That same diner could not finish a coconut and almond curry that was too hot and wanted a heat rating on dishes. Two reviewers found the menu hard to read in the dim lighting, with one asking for a larger typeface, and one reviewer noted the venue is due for renovation.

“Very pleasant Vegan meal at Mowgli,Brighton last Saturday eve. Ate Vegan as my companions are vegan. Good choice of Vegan curries etc. The venue is about to be updated/renovated. Hopefully the lighting will be a bit better in the future”

“We recently hosted our company Summer Social at Mowgli Brighton, and I genuinely couldn't recommend it more highly. From the moment we started planning the event through to the end of the evening, Luke and the entire team were exceptional. Organising a large group can often be challenging, but the team made the whole process feel effortless. Communication was always prompt, clear and organised, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. On the night itself, everything ran incredibly smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy the event knowing we were in safe hands. The food was absolutely fantastic. The family-style sharing menu was perfect for bringing everyone together, and every dish was fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented. There was something for everyone, and the feedback from people was overwhelmingly positive. The drinks were equally excellent, with a great selection and consistently friendly, efficient service throughout the evening.”

“The service was great from the moment we entered. We got settled in and got drinks before ordering. I tried the Chat, which was delicious. I then tried some gunpowder wings. They were tasty but not amazing. The more spicy ones were a little better as someone else got those. For a main I had the house chicken, which was very tasty, as was the cocktail that we finished on.”

“First time visit and we will definitely be back. Staff were really friendly and explained the menu to us. The food was amazing - everything tasted lovely. The waitress made a banging 'old fashioned' cocktail. The whole place was clean. Next time we are in Brighton we will be booking our table.”

“What a lovely restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and really tickled the senses. The design of the space is creative and unique with swing seats and natural decor. Staff were very friendly. An extensive vegan menu is also available, as well as gluten-free options. We were slightly forgotten about for a while, on a table at the end of the restaurant, but once orders had been taken, food was quick to come. Would definitely return!”

“Mowgli is all about how Indians eat at home and on their streets. She was born to feed the raw need Indians have for tiffins full of fresh bright intense flavour. Mowgli is not about the intimate, hushed dining experience. It is about the smash and grab zing of healthy, light, virtuosic herbs and spices. The simple dishes of a Mowgli menu are a million miles away from the curry stereotype. These dishes convey the truth that real Indian food is extremely healthy, often vegan and always packed with fresh flavour.”
