About Moka Pot

Moka Pot is an independent cafe on Seamoor Rd in Bournemouth, built on Palermo traditions and focused on coffee and baking. On its Sicilian nights, the kitchen serves aubergine timballo, Sicilian involtini and limoncello cheesecake. Through the rest of the menu, the bakery side covers freshly baked pastries, including almond and pistachio-filled croissants, along with chocolate cake and pistachio cake. Cappuccino and other coffee sit alongside them, and there is iced green tea as well. Breakfast includes a classic breakfast and a vegetarian Mediterranean option. Across a menu of 37 dishes, Rigatoni Pomodoro, sandwiches and a sharing platter fill out the savoury side. The owners work in the cafe and serve guests directly. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is the main draw at Moka Pot, with reviewers describing the classic breakfast and the vegetarian Mediterranean as hot, fresh and well made. Close behind are the pastries and cakes: pistachio croissants, an almond croissant described as perfectly flaky, and chocolate and pistachio cakes bought to take away. The coffee gets repeated praise, with the cappuccino compared to ones in Italy, and one non-coffee drinker singles out the iced green tea. A Sicilian night earned praise for the aubergine timballo, the Sicilian involtini and a limoncello cheesecake, with generous portions. Staff and owners are consistently called friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer mentions a staff member sharing stories about Italy. The only criticism is a single suggestion that the classic English breakfast come with two eggs. One birthday visitor was given a free cake by the owner.

“Excellent breakfast, great service, and amazing cakes! I had a wonderful experience at Moka Pot in Bournemouth! The location is good, and the service was excellent—the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered breakfast, and the food was delicious. They have several cake options, and I ended up buying one chocolate cake and one pistachio cake for takeaway. Both were absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend stopping by for a meal or a sweet treat.”

“My husband took me here as a birthday breakfast treat. It was definitely an amazing treat!! My breakfast was served hot (perfect temperature, not greasy what soever, top quality produce) and it was the most delicious breakfast I had in awhile and good quality coffee. The customer service from I believe is the owner was above and beyond, very kind, friendly and exceptional hospitality as he kindly gave me a cake on the house for my birthday. I can see why the cafe is always busy and without a doubt I will come back in the near future, without a doubt I highly recommend the place. Excellent coffee, food, service, hospitality and the owner = first class!!”

“We went to Moka Pot’s Sicilian night and had such a lovely time! The food was honestly from another planet 😍 The aubergine timballo, the Sicilian involtini and that limoncello cheesecake were all delicious, and the portions were so generous. The atmosphere was really lovely too. Giulia and Ardi are so friendly and caring, and you can tell how much love they put into everything they do. They made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️”

“I had such an amazing experience here! Honestly, one of the best cafés I’ve ever been to. ☕️✨ The place itself is lovely, the food was absolutely delicious, but what really made the experience special was the service. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and genuinely kind. A special mention to one of the staff members who took the time to chat with us and share some lovely stories about Italy — it made our visit feel even more personal and memorable. 🇮🇹🤍 You can really feel the warmth and care that everyone puts into this place. Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food and wonderful people. I’ll definitely be coming back and couldn’t recommend it enough!”
