Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the beef Wellington, called excellent and "to die for" across several visits, with the crispy slow-roasted pork belly close behind, one reviewer suggesting eating the glazed skin with the lean meat, cranberry sauce and gravy. Steaks also draw praise, including a ribeye and a 10oz cut, while sticky toffee pudding and a large hummus big enough for two get mentions. Cocktails earn their own note, with the Smoking Tractor praised for a smoky flavour that lasts to the last sip and the 24 Carrot Magic called fresh. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and several diners mark anniversaries and birthdays here. The main complaint comes from one evening visit: a very long wait for food, burnt bacon on a cheeseburger, a missing chicken item that was still charged, and a server unsure what dishes included. Another diner found the Chateaubriand closer to medium than medium rare. Reviewers also mention a surprise at the end of an anniversary meal.

“Another really nice restaurant not too far from places like Cherry Tree and Bistecca. These sorts of places feel a bit rarer in towns compared with city centres, so it’s good to see more quality spots appearing locally. Naturally we went for the 18oz Chateaubriand (£85). Let’s be honest, who isn’t going to enjoy a large slab of quality red meat appearing at the table? It was good and we definitely enjoyed it, but if I’m being picky, it wasn’t the best chateaubriand I’ve had and it leaned more towards medium than medium rare for me. Still tender, still tasty, just not quite the steak perfection I was hoping for. The vibe definitely felt aimed more at the boujee Bolton crowd, which isn’t naturally me, but I do like seeing places like this outside of the city centre. Service was spot on throughout and the restaurant itself looked great. It was on the quieter side when we visited, but still had a nice atmosphere. The menu has plenty of choice and they also offer a reasonably priced lunch menu, which has definitely tempted me back. Verdict: A good quality option in Bolton. Maybe not my favourite steak experience, but enough positives to make me want another visit. 🍽️ Paying customer | Honest review”

“Me and my partner came for our anniversary. It was incredible. Massive shoutout to Jenna who was so polite, always checked in on us throughout our meal. We ordered the 10oz steak and the beef wellington which were amazing! Also thank you Jenna for the lovely surprise at the end of our meal.”

“Waited 1hour 45 minutes for food, which meant we were eating after 9pm when we got the table at 7.15…when we finally got the food, the bacon on the cheeseburger was completely incinerated (as in attached picture, I’m not sure why they would even put this on the burger?) and my meal was missing the chicken I asked for (which they still tried to charge us for). We asked the waitress questions about the food before ordering and she wasn’t really sure on what was included e.g we ordered chips as she said there were no carbs on the pork belly, but then it came with potatoes. She also kept forgetting different drinks ordered, which was fine, but I’m not sure why after we saw her write it down. The food portions were huge, and the food was ok, but nothing special which is a shame as I’ve been before and thought the food was amazing. It ruined what started off as a lovely evening, so unfortunately I won’t be returning any time soon.”
