  “Had a fab evening at Toscana. The food was very good. The Garlic bread was gorgeous - and they did a half and half option too. All the starters were 10/10. Our Mains were also lovely and the service was excellent. I didn't get our waiter's name sorry - in the photo - but he was brilliant. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.”

  “Food bland Zero Flavour And then at the end they add a compulsory service charge of 10% ontop of a 300 pound bill. Now by British law it is compulsory for a restaurant to state that there is a compulsory service charge on the menu and guess what zero mention. So this is against the law. Wont be going back here. Even if the compulsory charge was not added the food was not worth going back.”

  “Bland & Disappointing! Started off great, we were welcomed in and seated immediately. We were given menus and had the specials read to us then we ordered drinks whilst reading the menu. The place is really nice, very nicely decorated, It was clean and tidy. The smell of the food coming from the kitchen smelt amazing! At this point it was going to be the best part of the night sadly. I ordered the Spanish larger and my wife a pornstar martini. I was told that the beer I ordered hadn't been chilled so I had to settle for the greek larger which to me was still not as chilled as it should have been. It took around 10 minutes for my wife's drink to arrive, I'm no conisour on cocktails but I'm sure it was meant to have passion fruit in it and not 2 tiny raspberries?! So after finally getting our drinks and we ordered our food. We ordered the black pudding starter, spaghetti carbonara and a chicken skewer with veg and chips. Within 5 minutes the starter was on the table, super quick. After tasting the starter we came to the agreement that the peppercorn sauce was overpowered with pepper, you couldn't taste anything else as it burnt your mouth, the black pudding was too stodgy and needed cooking longer and there was no garnish with it. A little side salad would have been great. Over all there was no flavour to it just overpowering pepper. Once they had taken that away our mains arrived a few minutes later, 10/10 for speed. The spaghetti carbonara, bland to say the least. Hardly any cream used, the pasta was borderline under cooked, the "ham/bacon" (whatever it was supposed to be) was like rubber and the flavour had run of with the slice passion fruit. Wasn't even offered any parmesan for it?! The chicken and vegetable skewer. Well the chicken was ok, cooked really well but yet again, no flavour to it it was just so bland. And for the vegetables....what vegetables!? I got a slither of onion and 2 slices of mushy courgette. Chips were just homemade chips, could have used another 5 minutes in the pan or maybe burn them then I would have experienced at least some flavour. Service left a lot to be desired, once we were seated and food had been ordered we were just left there. Not once did anyone come over asking if the food was nice or did we want another drink. They are only interested in new customers coming in or if you're OTT and shout for them. If you want a good night out, with great food and drink, amazing service and atmosphere don't come here go to Casa Nostra on church st in Westhoughton.”

  “Atmosphere and decor really welcoming and cosy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent choice on the menu and the midweek offer is fantastic value for money. Good choice for vegetarians and the chef was happy to adjust ingredients accordingly. Wine choice also fantastic! Black pudding starter was delicious. Excellent portion size. Improvement suggestion would be a little more bread would have made it perfect. King prawn linguine again delicious, again minor comment would be that the chilli's didn't have much of a kick or a little more would make it perfect. Creme brulee - texture and portion size perfect,suggestion point a little more vanilla and a little more sugar. This restaurant is a little gem in Hindley, and I intend to visit much more. Highly highly recommend. Amazing food, staff, decor, drinks, desserts and atmosphere! Awesome”

  “Celebrated our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary last night, originally should have been in February but we had an illness that meant we had to rebook, no problem for the staff at Toscana, 11 of us last night, despite the restaurant being quite busy we had our drinks order taken within minutes, food order taken shortly after and when our fussy eater was disappointed about 2 soup options he was offered a 3rd option. All the food was delicious, we had a lovely evening and were well looked after by the Staff, thanks very much.”

  “Lovely little Mediterranean restaurant. Janis, the owner is really friendly, genuine personality. All the time looked after us. Great vines and food, feels like you are somewhere abroad. Great place for a date ;)”
