About Turton Tower Woodland Cafe
Turton Tower Woodland Cafe is a coffee shop in Bolton, run from a small hut on the grounds of Turton Tower. Drinks and the bacon and egg butty are ordered at the hut, and customers then take their brew inside to wait for their food. The Italian hot chocolate and gelato sit alongside pies and cakes, and vegan options are available. Dogs are welcome, with water bowls and free dog treats on hand. Gardens around the tower give visitors somewhere to walk, and parking is free for 3 hours. A shop sells honey from the cafe's own bee hives, along with biscuits and a plant stall.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, helpful staff come up in most reviews and set the tone for visits built around the grounds and gardens at Turton Tower. Dog walkers are especially pleased, describing bowls of water and free dog treats, plenty of outdoor seating and a picnic area. Close behind is the food, including a bacon and egg butty ordered from the outside hut, banana bread called delicious, tea and cake, and a hearty sandwich with coffee. Reviewers also welcome the vegan options. The one criticism concerns drinks. One reviewer found the coffee overwhelmed by far too much syrup and the hot chocolate watery and not sweet, though the ice cream was delicious and the service still welcoming. Another reviewer joked that the cakes are enjoyable enough to add several pounds. Several visitors leave with bags of biscuits from the shop, plants from the plant stall and honey from the site's own bee hives.

“We stopped by this café after exploring Turton Tower. The coffee and hot chocolate were unfortunately disappointing, I asked for a bit of syrup in the coffee and usually 5-10ml is plenty, it tasted like 30-50ml was poured into it so all I could taste was the syrup. The hot chocolate was fairly watery and not sweet. We did also get the Britaina(ca?) Ice cream which actually was delicious. Instead of opting to sit at one of the tables we went to the nearby gardens which had a few tables where you can enjoy the lovely plants whilst having a drink. Overall, the café is nice but we were disappointed with the beverages, even though the service was very welcoming.”
