Customer Review Summary

Hot chicken sandwiches draw the most praise, from the hot honey chicken that arrived fresh, hot and messy to the Nashville hot chicken sub and the Buffalo fried chicken sub, which one reviewer called unreal. Close behind are the cocktails, wine and local craft beer at the bar, with bartenders described as friendly and knowledgeable, and a DJ some enjoyed in the evening. Coffee is called really good, and the Caesar salad and crispy fries also get mentions. Opinions split on value. One diner found the portion excellent for the money, while another said the sandwiches were smaller than Subway subs, the latte was tiny, and the only seating was metal chairs outside because the inside room was hosting a function with loud dance music. Another found the drinks a bit expensive and the cola not to their niece's taste. One reviewer was told the chicken Caesar sandwich was halal, then found bacon inside, and the owner has since responded and is updating the menu labelling.

“Stopped by today (06/06/26) after reading about the place in the local paper and was not overly impressed. Ordered a full Ceasar sandwich, a full Hot Spicy Chicken sandwich, a latte and a can of Fanta, This came to £29. The sandwiches were tasty however they are not that big, subway subs are bigger. They are certainly not worth £12 each. The latte was the smallest I have seen in a long time and at £4 was extortionate. The only seating available was a couple of frail metal chairs outside. The inside room was being used for a function. Loud dance music could be heard outside, which was not what we wanted to put up with on a Saturday afternoon lunch. Better of going to Morrisons cafe or one of the other cafes down the road.”

“*Owner has now responded and confirmed that they are now updating labelling menu based on feedback, happy with result and accountability taken post visit* Came here the other day and purchased a chicken Caesar sandwich which was advertised as halal on the menu. I also asked staff before ordering and was advised the chicken sandwiches were halal. After getting home, I discovered there was bacon inside the sandwich and in addition to this there was no parmesan, unfortunately my partner and I were unable to eat it due to dietary restrictions. I think clearer menu descriptions would help avoid confusion.”

“This was our first visit after wanting to go for a long time. From first arrival, staff were really friendly. We went through to the seating area in the back. There were a number of stools but also 3 tables, 2 of which are pushed together. It was quiet when we arrived so despite technically sharing a table, it didn't feel like we were. I had their own lager, they did give me the option of trying some first, but I just went with a pint anyway. Although I've not drunk Fosters in many, many years, it definitely tasted like the memory of drinking fosters. So I wasn't impressed with the pint but I really didn't mind. My niece ordered coke, they don't have it on draught. It didn't appear to be real coca cola, more like an artisanal cola we tried once. She wasn't a fan of it, but it did the job. Food arrived, I got the full hot honey chicken. It was very messy, thankfully the napkins were large. It was fresh, hot and delicious. Considering it's a similar price to a subway sub, this beat one in every way. My niece went with a half and some chips. She really enjoyed hers, the chips were fries but actually very nice. They had quite a nice batter coating and were very crispy. The décor was nice, it was relaxing and quiet in there. I doubt I'd go there just for a drink, it doesn't feel big enough. We'd definitely go again. Food and service were fantastic. We weren't as impressed with the drinks but they were still just fine. Altogether it was £35 for 1½ sandwiches, fries 1 cola and 2 pints. The drinks feel a bit expensive but the food was bob on.”

“Earls is located conveniently close to where we live so we visit quite often. The vibe is very art deco and they're always playing good music. On one of our visits there was also a live DJ. The coffee beans are by far one of the best given we can be very snobby when it comes to the perfect roast. The subs are light but very filling at the same time. The ceaser salad is very good. Their menu is small and I have knocked off one point because they stop serving coffee at 16:00, this is also when they start their dinner service. We do not drink but there is a well stocked bar. They also have outdoor seating which is lovely on a sunny day but it is situated on a busy road. I would recommend this place and the servers are amazing!”

“I went for drinks and it was beautiful! The potency of the drinks makes the drinks 100% worth the price, the bar staff are so friendly and the DJ makes the evening!! 10/10 would recommend!!!!”
