Customer Review Summary

Afternoon tea is the draw reviewers raise most, with sandwiches in beef and chicken fillings, scones with jam and cream, and homemade cakes and pastries all described as lovely and tasty. Close behind are the lunches: a jacket potato with two fillings and a salad, panini with a salad garnish, and a pork mince and potato pastie with peas, gravy and red cabbage, which one diner calls excellent value. The carrot cake earns its own praise, and the cakes are noted as made on the premises by volunteers in the church setting. Breakfasts also come up, including a vegan plate of vegan sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and tomatoes. The one shortfall comes from a vegan reviewer who found no vegan cakes on the day and was told they only sometimes have them. Reviewers describe friendly, welcoming staff and a relaxed atmosphere, and one says staff have more than once helped a father who struggles to walk into and out of the building, with a comfy chair always made available.

“Dropped in for lunch as I was working nearby, and even in my attire the lovely staff attempted to prompt me to eat in, which I had to decline (I look like a traffic cone). Well priced for a jacket with 2 fillings and even get a salad, amazing. I aim to eat from here wether it's while i am working in the area or even in my spare time for a relaxed breakfast with lovely staff and fellow customers.”

“Afternoon once again was fantastic, the sandwiches cakes and scones were lovely”
  • Miss Yvonne Lesley Wood
“Lovely little cafe in this church and once you're through their front door, the atmosphere in there is indeed, heavenly! Today, they didn't have any vegan options though, as regards cakes and was advised they do sometimes do, just not today, that's all. Reasonably priced meals and great they offer both white and wholemeal bread with Flora spread, which is vegan for me too. I enjoyed a breakfast / brunch type meal that consisted of 1 x toast, 2 x vegan sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and tomatoes - wonderful! Love going there, each time.”
