Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the coffee, calling it excellent, lovely and cheap while prices have gone up elsewhere. Close behind are the hot Carrs pies, pasties and sausage rolls, which several describe as welcome on a cold or rainy climb up Rivington Pike. Hot chocolates with all the trimmings and white chocolate chip ice cream also earn mentions. The view and the friendly dogs, some with bow ties, come up repeatedly, and one reviewer describes it as doggy heaven for two dogs mixing with other dogs after a morning walk. Staff and owners are called lovely, welcoming and helpful, even when busy. One reviewer finds the food choices basic but says the quality is there, and another expects it to get busy on good weather weekends. The recurring picture is walkers and cyclists stopping partway up, a hot drink and a pasty in hand, with a marshmallow or two dropped for the dogs.

“2/3 of the way up to the top of Rivvie Pike, on George’s Lane, what a welcome sight! Hot Carrs sausages rolls and pasties. And the view… don’t even. Just fantastic!”
- Rachael Hill
“Oh what a welcome sight was the Pike Snack Shack. First time at Rivington and we stumbled across here on a cold and icy day (Thurs 2/1). Staff were lovely and welcoming, despite being busy. We had 5 hot chocolates with all the trimmings and 2 coffees for around £23. The hot chocolates were amazing and just what we needed to finish the climb. We were greeted by the best dressed pooches with their bow ties on (who love a fallen marshmallow or two). Highly recommend!”
