Customer Review Summary
The chicken tikka baguette is the item reviewers raise most, described as packed with chicken and served with chilli and garlic mayo, while one reviewer also praises the homemade chilli sauce. Cooked breakfasts come close behind: a Big Breakfast with perfectly poached eggs, a full English with proper sausages and trimmed bacon, and a Spanish chorizo plate with poached eggs, grilled mushrooms, peppers and feta on sourdough. The lotus cheesecake and the hot chocolate each get a mention, as does a regularly changing specials board. Staff are called friendly and accommodating, and a couple of reviewers note that food is cooked fresh to order. The one real complaint comes from a weekday lunch visitor on a work break, who found the wait to be served too long because the server started making the previous customer's order before taking the next. That reviewer ended up eating at another place up the road. By contrast, another reviewer's telephone order came out quickly and piping hot.

“The butties are good and well worth having. But no cards. Cash or bank transfer. Weekday lunch: too long a wait to be served. I understand they have to serve in turn and bad luck if you are behind families and the kids for sit down; but if you are on a work lunch break and don't have much time then that wait is too long long. Several people working there, but the server has to start making the previous person's order before serving the next. This ok if Sunday lunch and loads of time, but on a lunch break no good. Shame as a good cafe. Get the right balance and it's 5*. But maybe I simply wasn't a priority to serve. Had to go to Greenaulgh's up the road. I would have preferred a Monte Carlo bacon & egg butty”

“If you’re looking for a top-tier spot for lunch, Monte Carlo Cafe is an absolute must-visit. I can’t recommend this place enough! They have a great selection of food that caters to just about every craving. Whether you want something light or a hearty meal, there is always plenty to choose from. I love that they have a regularly changing specials board. It keeps the menu feeling fresh and exciting, so there’s always something new to try every time you walk in. The chicken tikka baguette is an absolute favorite of mine. The chicken is always perfectly seasoned and tender—it's easily one of the best sandwiches in town. You cannot leave without trying their homemade chilli sauce. I’m calling it now: it is hands down the best in the North West. It has the perfect kick and flavour profile that you just can’t find anywhere else. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. If you’re in Bolton, do yourself a favor and stop by!”
