Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the beer selection and the reasonably priced drinks, with cocktails, spirits and ciders also getting a mention. Karaoke and good bands at weekends feed a lively atmosphere. One reviewer describes a pub full of characters where a late afternoon visit stretched to three pints. Staff behind the bar come up repeatedly as friendly, helpful and easy to talk to, and one bartender explained the history of the pub to a first-time visitor. Criticism is smaller but specific. One reviewer found two bar staff rude on a busy bank holiday weekend and raised it with the manager, who said he would sort it. Another found a Saturday afternoon taken over by horse racing on the television and people shouting for their horses, though service was still called fab. One reviewer wished for a larger range of alcohol-free ciders for designated drivers. One parent recalls a bartender who brought a teenager stranded by a taxi inside and let him use the wifi to call home.

“I know the Churchgate to be a fun place for nights out and what not when I went in the past, but today the gent working the bar (sorry didn't get your name) helped my teen out after his taxi left him stranded. He took him inside, and let him use the wifi to contact me. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it, faith in humanity restored :)”
