About Arabian Nites Birmingham
Arabian Nites Birmingham is a shisha lounge and restaurant on Bissell St in Birmingham, with a bowling alley alongside a Turkish menu and a cocktail list. Shisha is served at the table, and the waiter suggests flavours. The interior is dim and low-lit, and a DJ plays a mix of hip-hop, r&b and afrobeats, with dancers as live entertainment. The menu runs to 53 dishes, including Halloumi Fries, a Mezze Of Dips and Katsu, and mocktails sit beside the cocktails. The kitchen is halal. The lounge opens daily, evenings only, and it takes bookings, including for large groups.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the shisha, described as smooth and tops, with the loaded chicken fries close behind and mocktails also praised. Several single out the music, from a hip-hop, r&b and afrobeats mix to a DJ and dancers, and the relaxing, Dubai-like atmosphere. Servers draw repeated praise as friendly, sociable and quick to recommend dishes, and one reviewer says staff accommodated a last-minute group booking. The sea bass and mash were called tasty, though one diner disliked the prawn katsu.

“Terrible experience. The service was extremely disappointing. The staff showed a lack of attention and courtesy, and were very slow to respond. On several occasions, I felt my requests were ignored. The food might have been good, but the service completely ruined the experience.”

“It’s a really nice place but we went on Valentine’s Day so it was super crowded, the staff were lovely and very accommodating, always checking often to see if we needed anything else. The seating arrangement is a little confusing and it’s a bit uncomfortable being sat next to men as a young woman, especially when they stare. Great mocktails, I just wish there were more tables. The DJ is great and the dancers too. I will visit once more when it is not a holiday to see how it is when it’s less busy! Also 2 shisha with 2 drinks is £36 which is really quite good!”

“I came here for my birthday dinner 31st Jan on a busy Saturday night and honestly the experience was really disappointing and stressful. Our reservation was for 9pm. Some of my guests arrived before 9 and I arrived around 10 minutes late but we were seated and ready to order soon after. Since no one came to our table at first, we took some group pictures and then asked the staff if we could start ordering food. The manager told us there was already a large group being served, so we could either order drinks first or order food and expect a delay. We decided to start with drinks but the drinks ended up taking almost an hour to arrive. When they finally came, the servers didn’t even know which drinks belonged to which person which made everything feel very unorganised. After that, the manager eventually came to take our food order but it took another long wait. What made it worse is that while we were still waiting, other tables that arrived after us had their orders taken and their food came out much faster. At that point, my guests and I were really confused and frustrated because we felt completely ignored. We kept going up to staff members, including the manager, asking what was happening with our food. They kept saying they would check, and at one point they said they would add a bottle to compensate but the waiting continued and they didn’t bring the bottle. By the time it reached midnight, it was officially my birthday and I was still sitting there with no food. Another table in the restaurant had a birthday celebration and they received a big happy birthday moment, while my table was still being overlooked. That honestly really upset me and I ended up tearing up because the whole night felt ruined. Eventually, our food arrived very late and the birthday cake came after, but by that point it was hard to even enjoy the moment because of how badly the evening had been handled. I smiled for the cameras but inside I was extremely disappointed. When it was time to pay, the manager kept apologising, but later mentioned the delay was because I was 10 minutes late, which is not a fair excuse for a table waiting over three hours for food and being ignored most of the night. Overall, the customer service was poor, the organisation was messy and it was not the birthday dinner experience I was hoping for at all.”

“I had a great experience at this shisha lounge, and a big part of that was the outstanding service from our waiter, Nikki. From the moment we arrived, Nikki was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. She was very knowledgeable about the shisha flavors and gave excellent recommendations, checking in regularly to make sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. The service was fast, professional, and always delivered with a positive attitude. Nikki made sure the shisha was set up perfectly and refreshed on time, which really enhanced the whole experience. It’s rare to come across service that feels this personal and consistent. Overall, the lounge has a great atmosphere, but Nikki’s exceptional service truly set it apart. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this place—especially if you’re lucky enough to be served by Nikki.”

“Food was a bit cold as the dining area was cold. The bathroom was freezing. They did accommodate my friend last minute for a booking for 15 people. They were very helpful- the staff was good. Entertainment was excellent. Reasonable priced food.”
