About Masala Inn
Masala Inn is an Indian restaurant in Bexleyheath town centre, at 220 Broadway. The kitchen makes a gunpowder curry that is not printed on the menu, so diners who want it simply ask for it. Starters include samosas, with a veg version, and lamb chops. For a larger spread, a Royal banquet set menu is available. The restaurant takes walk-ins, so no booking is needed to sit down. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are also on the menu for guests who do not eat meat.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, attentive staff are the thread through most reviews, with diners describing warm greetings, requests accommodated, and a clean restaurant and toilets. Among the food, samosas come up most. One reviewer calls them the best he has ever had, and another praises the vegetable version with a spicy kick. Lamb chops, lamb sheek, prawn and sea bass, a staff-recommended chicken mahandi and a well-judged onion bhajee also earn praise, and one reviewer describes the food as fresh, not greasy and like homemade. A spice-lover found the vindaloo mild and suggests asking for the unlisted gunpowder curry, which was strong in spice and full of flavour without heaped chilli powder. The same reviewer found the mango chicken less impressive. The one sharply negative account concerns a delivery order: stale popadoms, burnt onion bhajis, a tikka sauce that tasted of tinned tomatoes and only a few small pieces of chicken, with the food arriving far sooner than quoted. Regulars say staff remember their names even when they visit only occasionally.

“Kaz and the team are always so kind and caring. The restaurant is always immaculate and the general atmosphere is special! My wife and I love coming here! Now the food..... always tastes fresh, always full of flavour, always hits the spot! We will literally never go to any other Indian restaurant! Thanks for always accommodating us and going the extra mile. Oh and they always make an effort to remember our names and we don't even go that often! Love this place!”

“Wow, recommend by the guys on- site. We went on Wednesday night for the Royal banquet. I am fussy, and wanted the deal but with my own dishes? The staff (well presented & friendly) couldn't do enough to help. So my starter was Veg Samoses > well presented with a nice side salad, with a nice spicy kick. For mains, I asked the staff "my normal dish is chicken korai" > I like your menu, many things I have never seen on a menu? I went with the restaurant recommend " chicken mahandi" sorry if not spelt correct! With a special rice, spicy & with spring onions and cubed chicken > phenomenal! My side dish was onion bahjee? In some restaurants dry in other restaurants greasy > absolutely spot on, again with side salad. Pound for pound an absolute dining experience, in a lovely clean restaurant > I absolutely can recommend this restaurant to anyone > please give it a go > you will not be disappointed.”

“This place is award winning for a reason, and I only came here because their latest accolade appeared in the local paper. I have been here twice, and service and atmosphere is well taken care of, that includes speed and etiquette, even at busy times, where a typical indian you might spend 90-120 mons, i was here 60-90 mins. Starters are well cooked, but their mango chicken wasn't that great, but the lamb sheek is. The mains, the chicken is well marinated, the first time I was here I had the vindaloo, which still tasted nice but wasn't that spicy, so I returned after Amin recommended their unlisted GUNPOWDER curry (don't look, just ask!), which was still strong in spice, but anyone like me that goes around eating phall, it still isn't the spiciest, but it does still taste great with a lot of flavour, some places do just heap the chilli powder, I can tell this isn't the case. Many thanks for the hospitality!”

“When you keep passing a restaurant and say, I must try it. Well Friday 15th May, we did. Walked in and was greeted by staff, we hadn't booked, would we get a table as they were clearly busy, no problem. Our order for drinks was taken, and we reviewed the menu. A nice selection, we oder samosas, lamb chops to start, my husband said the saide the samosas were the best he'd ever had. Mains of prawn & sea bass did not disappoint, excellent. For a first visit, it was a lovely meal. I would recommend this restaurant, the staff are friendly and attentive, great place to visit.”
