Customer Review Summary

Reviewers mostly praise the food, singling out the chicken tikka and shashlik on a sizzling cast iron plate, the Tikka Rezala with its ginger hit, and a biriyani with green sauce. Several mention bringing their own wine or alcohol, and some describe solid service. Two critics found a thin-sauced chicken tikka masala and balti with tiny chicken, and a sickly sweet matar paneer.

“Have used this restaurant a few times for home delivery and has always been very good. I don’t know what happened yesterday as it was like a cheap ready meal. Revolting chicken Tikka Masala and Balti chicken. Sauce was really thin., and seemed like the same sauce was used for both dishes. Chicken in each dish was minuscule . Only dish ok was the special rice. I really don’t know why they thought this was acceptable, and how it has it changed from previous orders. Will not be ordering again. £47 waste of money.”

“Go here regularly with family every 6 weeks. Food always hot and tasty and prices reasonable and service is solid never overbearing. We take a bottle of wine which helps during this cost of living crisis and spend around £25 per head and leave satisfied. Have eaten out in other Indian restaurants and paid much more and felt underwhelmed with their food. 8/10”

“I was told about this restaurant and I drove 15 miles just to try it out. I must say the drive was well worth it, the family enjoyed the delicious food. I would definitely recommend the biriyani with the green sauce.”

“This place is a complete disaster. Do yourself a favour and stay far away from this so-called restaurant/takeaway. If you value your money and your taste buds, don’t even think about ordering here. They claim to serve “authentic Indian food,” but what they deliver is nothing short of an insult to the cuisine. This is as far from real Indian food as you can get. A total waste of money and time - you will regret every penny spent. Avoid at all costs. In response to the restaurant’s reply: Your attitude only proves how little regard you have for your customers. You boast about being in business since 1983, yet in over four decades you’ve failed to grow or expand beyond a single tiny location - that doesn’t show tradition, it shows stagnation. Instead of taking feedback seriously and working to improve, you choose arrogance and dismissal. As for my order: the Matar Paneer was sickly sweet, with no spice or depth of flavour. Even something as basic as Pulao Rice was unforgivable - tainted with artificial green, orange and red colour that is not only unnecessary but harmful. Garlic Mushroom was just as bad: bland, lifeless and completely lacking in seasoning. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been around since 1983 or 1883 - longevity means nothing without quality and a willingness to improve.”
