The business previously traded as Royal Kitchen and was renamed Khana, so earlier references to Royal Kitchen point to the same restaurant. Customer Review Summary

Diners most often praise the food and the friendly staff, with the lamb curry singled out as tender, which one reviewer calls unusual in curry restaurants. Several describe the value as good, and others mention flavourful dishes, lovely presentation and a new chef. Staff go out of their way: one birthday diner got flowers, a balloon and a banner, and another party of 30 was hosted for a family birthday, with the place described as kid friendly. Easy parking at the back is mentioned once.

“We are a group of three ex -work colleagues and thought we would try a ‘new to us’ restaurant. Ownership has purportedly changed about a year ago and they’ve renamed from Royal Kitchen to Khana. We were lucky to go on their offer night: strangely, after a year, they don’t have any advertising/leaflets pointing this out! Starters were adequate, mains were poor. One of us ordered Chicken Korma, and when it turned up it looked like a bowl of custard – negligible colour and somewhat bland. I ordered a special, the Chicken Nantara which was supposedly in a “slightly hot sauce”… it looked and tasted okay but there was no heat in the sauce. Despite there being very few diners the service was still unduly slow. At the end of the meal the restauranteur asked us if we would like to come back as he was getting an Italian chef, so that both Indian and Italian dishes could be offered… we effectively declined but the question we asked ourselves was the business rationale – why would anyone go to an Indian for an Italian, and vice versa! A simple table and a simple bill, yet an extra bottle of beer had been added to the cost. We didn’t leave a tip. Strange that there’s such diverse feedback, but to all three of us there’s way too many better Indians in the local vicinity to warrant a return visit.”

“Big drop off in quality. Every dish seriously bland. Very disappointing. Will be going elsewhere in future.”

“Really enjoyed my visit to Khana in Sidcup. The food was proper tasty and full of flavour — you can tell it’s made fresh and done right. Good mix of classic Indian dishes and a few different bits on the menu too, so there’s plenty to choose from. The atmosphere was nice and chilled, and the staff were friendly without being in your face. The boss is really nice as well, which makes a difference — you feel properly looked after. Portions were decent and the prices are fair for what you get. Overall just a solid spot if you fancy a good Indian. Would definitely go back.”
